Celebrating Christmas with the Urchins -- UPDATE -- SURPRISE

I am so jealous that you will be seeing the lights! My poor dh just couldn't handle them while we were on our december trip a couple years ago. Someday... SOMEDAY! I will get to see them... really see them. Not just quickly walk through and call it good.

Your breakfast at CP sounds like it will be a fun one. dismeets do make trips just a bit more magical. :goodvibes

I'm catching up Kathy and excited that our trips are so close!

Thanks for the back story for "Fuzz" and yes, Michael's MB would certainly have to label him "Mr. trouble"

Although DHS is not my favorite park, it's not at the bottom. But those Osborne Lights... that's the part that I'm most excited about for that park. We've never been during the holidays so this will be a special treat.

I'm looking forward to breakfast with you and Mark as well!!! :woohoo: Em and I have no plans until a little before 11am when we need to head to AK. If you are still free let's try to pick a ride or two together. :thumbsup2

Take care and Happy Sunday! :santa:

I am glad I am reading this so I can get an idea of your park plans! We will both be in Epcot Dec 5th so maybe we can run into each other then! I, sadly, am not going to Crystal Palace on Dec 7th anymore so I won't be able to say hi then!

Praying you are feeling WELL by now and that this week goes smoothly! YOu have a LOT to do before you leave for the WORLD!:cheer2::cheer2: So happy for you and Mark and YEA to seeing Brenda and Em again again, that is going to be so much fun. And the Osborne Family Lights will be SPECTACULAR!!! :flower3:

Kathy just wanted to share with you Love the mb and FP+ haven't had one problem with them at all!

Ok I THINK I am caught up but you never know, I definitely missed some chatter! Mnnn, I might need one of those Captain's apple ciders, sounds perfect on a chilly night looking at the Osbourne lights! How fun that you are meeting Brenda and Em for breakfast, I love it! If I had to pick a least favorite park? How about half a park. Future world is my least favorite. Sorry about the shoes....but glad you had a nice visit (even if you played classic mom cleaning their kitchen :lmao:)

Love that you are going to go see Bob with Rosie!!! How much fun will that be!

We are back from our trip to Cozumel. The weather was awesome, we saw some really really cool things and ate lots of good food!! The 40 degree weather difference was a little hard to handle though :)

Cayley had a great State Meet. Scoring was pretty tough but she managed to medal in beam, bars and All Around. Had a heartbreaking mistake on the vault-hands hit the tape that cost her an entire point and being the Co State Champ :( She will never make that mistake again... She will move to a higher group in Dec. Avery's State was consistent with her year. Great score ob vault and low score on floor. Was in a VERY TOUGH age group. She will start training some skills for the next level up when we get back from Disney

Sat is our departure day. We may do breakfast at Boma and then head to AK. Not sure yet.

Thanks everyone for being here with us, and Happy Thanksgiving!!

The one time that we visited over the Thanksgiving holidays, we missed seeing the lights at Hollywood Studios. (slaps her forehead) Ooh, the end of the evening sounds like fun! I've never seen YeeHaw Bob but hear that he puts on a great show.

I vaguley remember you telling me you missed them that trip. We've caught a few mintues of YeeHaw Bob years ago when we ate at POR's sit down restaurant. So it will be fun to go with the girls.

Sounds like a great night! I love the lights. It is one of the reasons I love DHS so much!

I know it is. :)

Kathy, I don't know if you have been to see the lights before, but plan a little more time to see them. They are JUST awesome!

We saw them last year for the first time when we took Mark for his surprise 60th birthday; and the reason we are going back this year.

Oh, and meeting Rosie! She is such a funny and sweet lady. :goodvibes

I can't wait to finally meet Rosie.

You do know they are filming the Christmas parade on Dec. 7 and the MK will be busy. That is our last too and not sure where we will go as we fly out at 5:30. Hope you are including me in your dismeet plans.

Yes, I do. But I'm hoping with ALL of those people at the taping, that we will have our breakfast and be able to do a few attractions while all of those people are watching the parade taping. If not, we will go to our next park earlier.

The Osborne Lights are great! We missed them the last time we were there over the holidays. :sad1:

I love them; we enjoyed them so much last year that we knew we had to go back.

Yay for a DISer's breakfast! That's so much fun.

I think it will be a great breakfast. :)

YES YES Yes !! I am gonna tell the Grannies and Wannabees that we have company !!!! I am sooo excited !!!:goodvibes:cool1::banana::worship::thumbsup2:goodvibes:cool1:

Rosie, give us the time you are going and save a seat for five...or three....the girls can sit on our laps if need be.

I can't wait to see the Osborne lights myself... Then again, I can't wait to see WDW once again in just a few days. 3 years has seemed like an eternity for me. :yay:

Bob, I am so happy that you are finally getting back to WDW!

Sounds like wonderful plans. I truly hope you have an awesome vacation! Those lights are soooo beautiful. We had fun trying to find all the hidden mickeys within the lights.
And it will be packed at the MK with all the people there for the parade taping. Though, those with tickets to be part of the taping won't be able to leave Main Street til the taping is done!

Thanks, Linda. I agree...the lights are beautiful. I want to try to find the Hidden Mickey's this year. That's what I was thinking with the taping...they'll be stuck there for awhile. At least I hope so.

So I'm not completely caught up, but I had to comment that your plans look great.

Thanks, MaryEllen.

More importantly, how did I NOT know that HS had seasonal adult beverages? I totally want one. Now!

And yummy seasonal adult beverages too. :)

Mark's Magic Band name is Fuzz? :rotfl: I'm not going to ask why. I hope you like the bands. I enjoyed using ours. For the most part it worked well for us.

You must have missed my explanation earlier. Mark called our beloved Cookie "Fuzz" because she was fuzzy. He won't admit how much he misses her and I think he needed to do this for her.

Very excited that your trip is right around the corner. YAY!

One week from tomorrow...I can hardly believe it.

I would like to order one Snowball, please! :thumbsup2

I'll be glad to have one for you. ;)

Too bad about the puppy chewing the shoes. You know that's what they told us at our puppy training - "that's what puppies do when your shoes are down. :( Bitter Apple spray was our friend at that stage with our Chessie. He got where if we tried to give him something new, he would look at us like, "Are you KIDDING - That's not mine! :scared1:"

I mentioned the Bitter Apple Spray to Alisha and Mark. So far, there have been no more incidents.

ohhhhhh I cannot wait to see it all!!! I wish you ALL the Magic and pixi dust one can have in the best place on earth!!!

:grouphug:

Thank you, Mo. :santa:

Ruh roh.

That was a BIG ruh roh in that house.

And you're wrong.:rolleyes1

Matter of opinion, my friend.

Wait a minute? Share? It could be a life or death proposition if someone ever tried to "share" one my cupcakes there! Those things are good! :rotfl2:

True, but it's the holiday season, so I thought sharing would be a good thing.

I think I'd much rather have a Sleigh Ride. :thumbsup2

Mark will probably order the Sleigh Ride...I'll let you know what he thinks.

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

I can't wait!

  Is Bob ok with this? :rotfl2::lmao:

Bob might be in for a shock. :rotfl:

BOOOOO!! :sad2:

I know...I dn't like it either (but our flight time did change...more on that later).

Good change. :thumbsup2

I agree; as much as we love Kona, we can't wait to have a meal with Brenda, etc.

I think they'll be ok with that if they were ok with you stalking them last time. :confused3

I'm not sure who was stalking who...but we sure had fun doing it.

All caught up Kathy. Love the plans and Osborne lights are spectacular and I love searching for the purple cat and the hidden Mickeys. :goodvibes

:wave2: Pat. I didn't know about the purple cat...I will be on the look out. I hope you are feeling good after the surgery.

Oh, The Osbourne Family LIIIIIIGHTS!!! I will see those some day! ::yes:: You all are so popular, you have Dismeets all over to place. pixiedust: One of these days, I will be one of those Dismeets, too! :thumbsup2

Oh I hope you get to see them some day...they are absolutely wonderful. And I certainly hope to meet you at a DISmeet one of these days too. :goodvibes

Your plans for MGM sound lovely!

Thank you, Toni-Marie.

With the exception of the Sleigh Ride (Vodka, yuck) those drinks sound very tasty!! The Snowball definitely!!!

I'm not a fan of Vodka either; but the Snowball is a definite keeper in my book.

I hope you have a better experience at SciFi this trip! And that you get an easier character than Rapunzel to draw at Animation Academy! Either way I'm sure you'll still have so much fun!!

I think I'll be fine as long as I stick with the burger and onion rings. I hope we have an easier character too. Just once I would LIKE to get Mickey.

Oh, the Osbourne Lights look like such a sight to see! One of these days I'll be there for them!

I hope so; your daughter would be mesmerized by them.

How awesome that you'll get to have breakfast with Brenda, Em, and other Disers! I'm sure that'll be a fun meal...and at CP with the Pooh gang to
boot!!!

It will be a fun breakfast for sure.

Excited to see where you'll be heading next!

Coming up soon.

And I'm also glad to read you had a nice visit with your son and daughter-in-law the other weekend :-)

We had so much fun with them, and I can't wait until they are hear in five days.

Still here… seems like Andy has taken over my place as the smart Alec around here. :rotfl::rotfl:

Yes, he has filled in for you quite nicely when you weren't around.

I wish we stayed a little longer to see the Osbourn lights. I hope they continue them somewhere. :scratching

I hope they leave them somewhere at the Studios. It would be a shame to get rid of them...they are so much a part of Christmas at Disney.

Oh those Osborne Lights are so beautiful! I can't wait to see them again but it's going to have to wait till next year. Did you know that Goofy meets in his Santa costume at AK too? Not as pretty of a background but the wait might be less than during the lights.

I didn't know that about Goofy at the AK. Thank you for the heads up...we will be on the hunt.

I knew that was Crystal Palace right away even though I've never been there. Guess I've read too many TRs. :rotfl:

At least too many of mine. :rotfl2:

Andy gets the cheeky monkey title as Marv is never around and he was the original cheeky monkey !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Marv? Who is Marv? I've never seen a Marv on this PTR.

Your last day sounds like the perfect last day
to me!!!

Thank you, D.

What could be better? A Dismeet with several Disers AND Crystal Palace breakfast!!! Wahoo!!!!

I think it is a perfect way to have a last morning at the MK.

The Osbourne lights look beautiful - I just really want to go some day.

I hope you do...they are worth the price of admission.

I can't believe your trip is coming so soon!

D~

Me neither. Not counting today, three more days of work (we are closed both Thursday and Friday).

Just letting you know I am still here. Your trip is so close, I am happy for you! :goodvibes

Thanks, Judy. Yes, it is...one more week. Now if I can just survive the office until then.

Kathy we hadn't yet set a time !! I will check with Janet as it will just be the 2 of us I believe .I think he runs from 8:30p - 11p so maybe 9 p sound good !!???

Dropping by to say BYE! our flight leaves tonight at 945pm and we will be arriving at MCO in 24 hours :dance3: we will be in Disney tomorrow :dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

can't wait to see you, Mark, Mary and the girls and of course all the other DISer's at the party! text or FB me with the definite plans, not sure how much I will be checking in here on the DIS.

safe travels to you all!

I can tell by all your posts on FB that you are having a grand time. See you next week.

Kathy, Santa Goofy is meeting at the Osborne Lights this year! I believe he is in the same spot as last year :goodvibes

Thank you for the heads up. We'll have to see how the line looks when we get there. :)

I am so jealous that you will be seeing the lights! My poor dh just couldn't handle them while we were on our december trip a couple years ago. Someday... SOMEDAY! I will get to see them... really see them. Not just quickly walk through and call it good.

I hope you do too, Ann. They are so beautiful, fun and really puts you in the spirit for the holiday.

Your breakfast at CP sounds like it will be a fun one. dismeets do make trips just a bit more magical. :goodvibes

Yes they do.

I'm catching up Kathy and excited that our trips are so close!

Can you believe it? The time has gone really fast.

Thanks for the back story for "Fuzz" and yes, Michael's MB would certainly have to label him "Mr. trouble"

Michael would certainly deserve that on his MB. But he's fun too.

Although DHS is not my favorite park, it's not at the bottom. But those Osborne Lights... that's the part that I'm most excited about for that park. We've never been during the holidays so this will be a special treat.

I am so glad you are going to be able to experience them. :)

I'll email you by Wednesday and we'll talk rides.

Take care and Happy Sunday! :santa:

I hope you had a good day yesterday.

I am glad I am reading this so I can get an idea of your park plans! We will both be in Epcot Dec 5th so maybe we can run into each other then! I, sadly, am not going to Crystal Palace on Dec 7th anymore so I won't be able to say hi then!

Oh good...I'm glad we will be at the same park on one day. I'm sorry you won't be joining us for breakfast, but I hope if you see me at Epcot, you'll stop us and say hello. I would love to meet you.

:flower3:

I'm better, Judy, thank you. I'm still very tired though but that is because I've been running like a wild woman. I'm glad we are getting to spend more time with Em and Brenda, and I can't wait to see the lights again.

Kathy just wanted to share with you Love the mb and FP+ haven't had one problem with them at all!

Thanks for the heads up, Lisa. I think I'll still wait to see how I feel about them when we get there.

Ok I THINK I am caught up but you never know, I definitely missed some chatter! Sorry about the shoes....but glad you had a nice visit (even if you played classic mom cleaning their kitchen :lmao:)

I thought of the Captain's Apple Cider, but I'm not a huge cider fan. I am so excited that Brenda and Em had room for us with the group. I wanted to start on their bathroom next, but I didn't want Alisha to think I thought she kept a bad house. She did promsie me once the work was all done on the house, that I could come for a weekend and her and I would give it a good cleaning.

Love that you are going to go see Bob with Rosie!!! How much fun will that be!

I am so excited to be meeting crazy Rosie.

We are back from our trip to Cozumel. The weather was awesome, we saw some really really cool things and ate lots of good food!! The 40 degree weather difference was a little hard to handle though :)

I bet; I loved all the pics you and Jeff posted on FB. I can't wait to hear all about the trip.

Cayley had a great State Meet. Scoring was pretty tough but she managed to medal in beam, bars and All Around. Had a heartbreaking mistake on the vault-hands hit the tape that cost her an entire point and being the Co State Champ :( She will never make that mistake again... She will start training some skills for the next level up when we get back from Disney

I'm sure Avery will be fine next level; don't forget, they are still relatively new to this.

Sat is our departure day. We may do breakfast at Boma and then head to AK. Not sure yet.

That sounds like fun.

Thanks everyone for being here with us, and Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hope you have a good one too. There is one IMPORTANT thing you have to do before you leave Saturday. Give me the list of ADR's for our girls trip so I can book them on Saturday.

Kathy we hadn't yet set a time !! I will check with Janet as it will just be the 2 of us I believe .I think he runs from 8:30p - 11p so maybe 9 p sound good !!???

I think 8:45 or 9 would be fine. I don't know how hard to get tables so I'm leaving that to you and Janet.

I truly apologize for my lack of being here. I spent all morning catching up on all of the other threads again.

Work is just killing me, I spent all day Saturday baking Christmas cookies and on the phone with my daughter-in-law and yesterday I cleaned the house all day since this coming weekend is shot and then we leave. On top of that, my brother is having more medical issues and I'm just totally drained.

The good news is Andy started teaching on Friday (the teacher left to have her baby) and Mark's kids are doing well early in the wrestling season.

And I have to tell you what my sweet boy did. I told you about the dog and the shoes. Well, last Monday, Alisha called him when she was leaving work as she always does. Mark told her there was a phone number on the dresser he needed when she got home and to call him with it. Well, there was no note with a phone number. There was a note that said: "look in the closet." Hanging in the closet was a new dress and a NEW pair of zebra patterned shoes like the ones Rolo chewed up. A note attached to the shoes said to go in the kitchen and there was a note there that said: "Be ready at 8, we're going on a date." I don't know where he got his romantic side...it sure wasn't his father. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Okay, back to our plans.

After we leave the Magic Kingdom, we are heading here:

We want to spend the afternoon seeing the things we missed on our full day on Thursday. This would include some of this:

Storytellers (but without a cute couple in the photo)

Have one of these:

We have dinner at the Coral Reef at 4:05 p.m. Why so early? Because we will be going to see this afte our dinner:

Mark and I are really looking forward to this. Our narrator is Whoopi Goldberg and we hear she is marvelous.

With the CP package, we also get special seating for Illuminations. Now, as most of you know, we are not Illumination fans at all, but being that we get special seating and I've heard they do a "Christmas" themed one, we will stay for it.

Sunday, December 8

We originally had an 8 a.m. or something like that flight. Then American Airlines went and changed flights and our flight was at 6:30 a.m. This would mean leaving the resort at 4:00, if not earlier, to return the rental car, check in, go through security, grab something to eat, etc. Mark was NOT happy. He called American Airlines on Saturday and they willingly (without any change fees, difference in fare, etc)., moved us to the 11:45 a.m. flight where there were still seats available. So what did I do with this new info? I booked a breakfast, of course. And where will we be eating? Sorry, Tim, it's not Kona (although I tried...no availability; but we are definitely eating there in September). We will be eating breakfast here:

And I will be inhaling several of these:

After breakfast, we will head to the airport and fly home. :(

Andy will be picking us up from the airport. I'll go home and go through the mail, do the laundry, etc., and probably hit the sack early for work the next day.

Up next, a recap of our days and time/place for DIS meet

Mary sounds like a great trip! See you next week in Disney!
Kathy you've been busy hope everything will settle down before you leave!
Yes we are having a magic trip! Love having my new iPhone to post

So here is a recap of the week:

Mary and girls arrive on Saturday, November 30

Mark and I arrive on Tuesday, December 3

On Tuesday, we will be at the MK for lunch/dinner at The Plaza and then MVMCP. Also a BIG DIS meet.

Wednesday, December 4 -- Animal Kingdom day with lunch at Yak & Yeti and dinner at Jiko; we are also hooking up with Lisa (mommy2mrb) for some attractions this day

Thursday, December 5 -- Mark and I are having breakfast at WCC and then hitting Epcot all day with Mary and the girls, including lunch at the Garden Grill

Friday, December 6 -- Studios day; we have lunch at Sci Fi and will spend lots of time at the Osborne Lights. After that, we head to POR-Riverside to see YeeHaw Bob with Rosie

Saturday, December 7 -- Mark and I have breakfast with Brenda and Emily and we are going to try to do a few rides together. Mary and the girls may or may not come here in the morning before their Magical Express.

Mark and I will head to Epcot in the afternoon for dinner at Coral Reef and the CP.

Sunday, December 8 -- we fly home

I know I originally thought 5 p.m. for our big DIS meet, but I forgot we have FP+ at that time. So my suggestion is we do it at 6:30 p.m. I think the best place to meet is right in front of the restrooms (behind the stage where they have the dance party) near Space Mountain. I hope as many of you that can come will...we'd love to meet you all. And for those of you that are not at the MVMCP that night, please STOP me if you see me in one of the other parks and say hello. It would be delightful to meet as many of you as possible.

Last days suck! Why can't we just live in Walt Disney World?

What a sweetie that boy of your's is! How nice of him to replace the shoes and take his bride on a date. I'm betting that it helped forget about the chewed up pair.;)

My DH and I should be there with lights on. I will be the one in the nicely decorated ECV.

That was so sweet of Andy to buy her new shoes. Jim probably would have just given me a lecture for leaving my shoes out. :lmao:

Santa Goofy at AK meets in the regular spot that Pluto and Goofy meet at in Dinoland. If I remember correctly, Pluto had on a Christmas collar too but I can't really tell from the picture.

Coral Reef, yum! That's one of my favorites in all the parks. While it's not the best food at WDW, I love watching the aquarium and the Bailey's Jack Daniels Chocolate Moose for dessert is yummy. Not for everyone though because you can taste the alcohol.

Mom and I didn't do the Candlelight Procession. She didn't have any interest. Maybe I'll try to catch it next year.

seriously? page 20? I am not onboard until page 20? WHERE HAVE I BEEN?

I haven't completely read through. I started at the beginning,, then went to the end. Yeah, I'm like that sometimes. NOw, I have to find time to go back to the middle & get completely caught up.

For now, Nice to meet Mary & her girls. They are beautiful.

Kathy, like I said I kinda skipped part of this, but did read your brother was having med issues again. I sincerely hope he is doing better by the time your ead this.
And your son is just too cute, with the date/shoe/dress thing. I remember when DH was Santa for me one Christmas, and did that. Entire outfit, earrings, dress, shoes, perfume, necklace...even a diamond ring with money in a bank account fo r me to get it in whatever setting I wanted. hmm... I miss those days.

Okay, plans sound awesome, but like I say have to go back now and finish reading.
