I have heard that they do have cakes for celebrations -- birthdays, anniversaries, etc. -- but have not heard that they were ever brought out by characters. That would be really exciting. Hopefully, someone can fill us in better. :rotfl:

There are no private or special character experiences on the ship. Yes, your child will get a cake, but it will be delivered by a server, not by a character.

First, note on your booking that it is the child's birthday. Your head server will verify which day you want the cake served. All the available serving staff will sing the ship's version of Happy Birthday. On one occasion, we had a Mickey edible picture on the cake. On another, we had a chocolate Mickey.

You can choose to decorate your stateroom or door yourself. You can purchase decorations thru DCL.

When you go to a character greeting session, Mom or Dad can whisper to the character's handler that it is your child's birthday. They will tell the character, and your child will get a birthday hug or a special notice from the character.

my dd's birthday is actually before our cruise and also my parents 50th anniversary is before. would it be okay to celebrate both on the cruise? the reason we have planned this cruise is for my parents anniversary but the magic is on the west coast on their actual anniversary date? i swear, sometimes i worry about the dumbest things!

Here's the site to order stateroom decorations.

We order the Bon Voyage when we sail just so the room looks festive when we walk in for the first time. The birthday decorations are very nice. We ordered the birthday decorations for my mom this past time. In addition, the petit fours and sparkling cider or champagne completes the celebration.

I would celebrate your daughter's birthday while onboard. We will be celebrating my inlaws 50th wedding anniversary 2 months early on the Magic. We have to travel when the whole family can arrange to get together.

Enjoy!

They are not at all picky about having the exact date of the birthday or anniversary during the sailing. If you just tell the head server that you are celebrating your whatever on X day, they will arrange the cake for you. It doesn't matter that the birthday was a week ago or whatever. Even if your birthday IS during the cruise, they will ask you which night you want the celebration.

As Far As The Birthday Cakes - I Didn't See Them On The Disney Cruise Line Website- How Much Are They And How Do We Order One? Was Also Thinking Of Orderind A Gift Basket To Celebrate Ds Birthday-is This Possible Thruogh Disney Cruiseline And Do They Have Character Plush Dressed As Sailors? I Thought That Would Be So Cute....especially To Start Our First Cruise!!!!!! Anyone Have More Info? Thanks!!!!

On our West coast cruise 2 weeks ago we celebrated my 2 birhtdays and my praent's 50th anniversary which was last September but the cruise was part of the celebration for them. For each occasion a cake was brought outand our severs sang . On my parent's cake they even wrote Happy 50th anniversary. There was no charge for any of the cakes and DCL did a great job. Just remind your servers the first night when you want to celebrate the occasion. They 'll even wrap the leftovers to take back to your room.

My DD also got a DCl birthday pin from our server. I decorated our room with disney decorations from Target. I also used a happy birthday banner.
The DH was able to keep her out of the room while I did the decorating. I also made two door signs, one for her birthday and the other one with our names etc.
She was so surprised by it all!! It was her sweet 16 cruise. :cool1:

Absolutely! We cruised on July 2 but our 20th isn't until August 24. We celebrated anyway. You could celebrate each event on a different night, too, I would think, so DD gets her night and your parents get their night, too. Plus, you'll get an extra cake, which you'll need because, you know, they don't feed you enough on the cruise! [I say that because we were all too full to eat our cake, so they wrapped it up and sent it back to our room with us where it sat in our fridge for days. Never did eat it because we never really had the opportunity to get hungry again. :mickeybar (They need a smilie for "I ate waaaaay too much :faint: .")]

I celebrated my birthday on the July 2 cruise. I think my DH told our server and a special birthday cake was made for dinner that night. Our server also informed Palo about it and they also prepared a special dessert and a plate with a birthday greeting on it. I also got a birthday pin. BTW, the birthday cake was delicious!

:bday: :cake: :bday: :cake: :bday: :cake:
