I feel like i'm begging or something by doing this! :rotfl2: What if I say "Saturday is my birthday!" And they reply "oh how nice...."
:rotfl:

Here are some pictures from a couple years ago when my DD, Natalie was there with me on her 24th birthday.

We had a wonderful time. She had pins from each of the parks (get at guest services in each park) including DtD, that I had picked up earlier before she arrived (she got there a couple days after I did). Everywhere we went, CM's and guests, made it her day. Disney is a wonderful place to celebrate.

Back in '99, on our family trip, we celebrated Natalie's 19th. Special things that day that I can recall where Chef Mickey's in the AM, parasailing in the early afternoon, the Poly Luau for dinner and an MK fireworks cruise on Seven Seas Lagoon to close the night. :goodvibes

We were at Disney for my birthday 2 years ago. I didn't know about the birthday pin (oh, well!). We went to Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner. Minnie, Goofy, Pluto (my favorite!), and Chip and Dale were there. They put confetti on the table if you tell them it's your birthday so that the characters will spend a little extra time with you. They were fantastic - and so was the food! I think a 12-year-old would really enjoy LTT.

Happy birthday to your daughter!

Can anyone tell me where in EPCOT that I can pickup the Birthday pin?

My memory is that they are available at any of the guest relations windows at any of the parks.

I believe in the philosophy "if you want to be sure something happens, do it yourself" when it comes to the birthday thing at WDW. I am the planner and we are going over my birthday, so I've had to suck it up and tell Disney dining and the resort that yes its a birthday and yes its my own. I'm a little embarassed by it, but the CMs have always been so nice! There has never been the ambivalent "oh how nice" from anyone, which makes it a lot easier! No worries! You're celebrating Disney style!

I ended up doing this on our last trip. I cannot say that I did not enjoy the attention and birthday wishes. I also know that once WDW was aware by reservation and ADR DW and my children were able to "conspire" with the CMs at restaurants and the resort to surprise Daddy's several times on his birthday. I did my part to be "surprised" each and every time and thoroughly enjoyed my birthday.

Do most people only wear the pin/hats on their acutal birthday or the entire trip? My oldest DD will turn 11 at the first of our trip and youngest DD will turn 4 the day after we leave (no way to stay longer). So I need to know when for them to wear their pins/hats. I love the claire's crown idea...I may need to get a couple of them myself.
