Hi we will be in Disney celebrating my daughter's 12th Birthday. Just wondering how everyone else has celebrated their loved ones birthdays or special occasions. This weekend we went to one of her favorite stores, "Claire's" they sell jewelery and accesories and I found her a "Happy Birthday" crowd that she plans on wearing to Disney. Of course, I just learned about the birthday pins, wow you always learn somethinh new here at disboards. We have been to Disney before on her birthday, but I didn't know there were so many special things available to do.

Okay, hope everyone shares their special memories. :grouphug:

Definitely get a birthday pin at town hall, or the equivalent at the other parks. Almost every CS and TS restaurant will give her a birthday cupcake or something nice as a treat when they see her pin.

If you have ADRs, let them know that she's celebrating a birthday, and you'll probably get a special seating, mickey glitter, etc. at the table. We were down there for my 5yr old's birthday, and we got this treatment at CP, 1900 PF, bakery at MGM, GF Cafe, and a handful of others.

Also, the characters in the parade will often wish her a happy b'day as they go by if they see the pin.

fun!

We will be the Poly for my mom's 69th b-day and we have a few things planned.

Since her b-day falls on the day we planned as a pool day she wants to go to O'hana's for dinner. I'm a little worried because reviews of the new menu haven't been that great. Wondering if we should switch :confused3 but then again she loves watching all the cute things they do with the kids
For her dessert at her dinner she will have a cinderella slipper dessert. Our travel agent says she does this all the time so it shouldn't be a problem. (I can't post pics, but if you do a search you should be able to find a pic, it's approx. $14.)

We are ordering her a MICKEY’S Happy Surprise Cake from disneyflorist.com
Here's the description:
Contains 15 Mickey chocolate bars, 5 Mickey small pretzels, gummies, jelly beans, shortbread cookies, chocolate crispie squares and cookies, on tray with Mickey Bow!

I think it's expensive, but hey, she's my mom! We're giving this to her from DD & DS and will have it delivered. She's a chocoholic so this fits the bill.

And lastly on our trip to Epcot we will be picking pearls and will do something special with them - still haven't figured out what :confused3 I might have her, ds & dd all pick a pearl and have it set. I'll have to see what they have when we get there.

My dd is a tomboy, but maybe your dd would like a trip to the bibbity bobbity boo boutique? That looks really cute.

I also think another good place to celebrate is Chef Mickey's. We did that with mom last trip and she loved it.

She's a lucky girl to be spending her b-day at the World :cloud9:

I'm hoping dh will take us for my 40th - he's got 4 years to plan it!!! :rotfl:

JerseyGirl114 - I think you will have a fab time at Ohana for your mom's BD!!! Atmosphere was A+, (hurried wait staff was C), Salad, wings and shrimp were A+ (skewered meat was tough and a D), Dessert was YUM YUM YUM -- A+! All in all, we certainly did not go away hungry and it was so much fun watching the kids play games and all of us singing songs! Have a great time!

We will be celebrating my DD's 8th birthday on our upcoming trip. She turns 8 a little over a week before the trip, but DH couldn't get off of work until the end of the month. Anyway, it is a huge birthday present for her so we will be celebrating while we are there. I have on my packing list to go get her a birthday hat/headband to wear in the parks. I had planned to go to Party City and find one. However, this crown seems to be perfect, and DD LOVES Claire's!!!!!!!! Can you tell me what it looks like? What is it made of? Also, was it very expensive?

There was a thread started about B-Day Cakes at WDW, it sort of morphed into different ways to celebrate many different ocassions. There were many great ideas. Hope this helps you decide (but after seeing so many yummy looking ckaes, it'll probably be harder to decide)

I will be celebrating my 24th birthday in WDW too! I am still deciding what to do for ADR's on that day, if anything. We have ADR at Ohana's on Monday Dec 4 but my birthday isn't until Saturday the 9th. We are just going to spend the day in the Magic Kingdom! I wish they had a Bibbidy-Bobbity Boutique for us older princesses!! :sunny:

Oh - I just remembered that they gave my 5 yr old daughter a happy birthday crown at 1900 park fare. She wore it the rest of the day.

Can anyone tell me where in EPCOT that I can pickup the Birthday pin?

It is a "plastic" crown, silver colored with the words Happy Birthday on it. It was only $3.50. Hope you find one.

Happy Birthday to your daughter all the way from Texas :grouphug:

My son celebrated his 12th birthday last October in WDW.

We got him a pin. He then picked out the birthday cake hat to wear. Everywhere we went people told him happy birthday. He loved it.

He chose to eat dinner at 1900 Park Fare, but we were told they don't do anything like a birthday cupcake. I asked when we checked in and again with our server.

It didn't matter to him about the cupcake or anything. He was thrilled to celebrate his birthday in WDW.

I spent my 24th B-day at WDW last Nov. I wore the B-day pins every day we where. I know it was cheating but we spend so much money on the trip i felt i should be told Happy Birthday the entire time i was there. I even had a CM in AK sing me happy birthday on my way out of the park. It was so cool. It will definently be my most memorable B-Day. For Braqueu get the B-Day pin in epcot at guest services which is to the left of Space Ship Earth.

Her birthday tiara & an upbeat attitude will get her a lot of attention on her birthday...my son was SHOWERED with pixie dust on his 8th birthday because of this cool "It's my Birthday" t-shirt my husband made for him. Pop century had balloons and a card in our room, too, plus tons of other stuff. I also packed streamers & stuff from Party City in a Mickey theme and decorated our room w/it which my son LOVED!

My son will be turning 9 while we are at Disney, staying at POP century. I have a question - when or how do you tell the hotel that you have someone having a birthday while you are there?

Call Disney and have it noted on your reservation, that you are celebrating a birthday and on what day, and when you check in mention it again!

I feel like i'm begging or something by doing this! :rotfl2: What if I say "Saturday is my birthday!" And they reply "oh how nice...."
:rotfl:

I believe in the philosophy "if you want to be sure something happens, do it yourself" when it comes to the birthday thing at WDW. I am the planner and we are going over my birthday, so I've had to suck it up and tell Disney dining and the resort that yes its a birthday and yes its my own. I'm a little embarassed by it, but the CMs have always been so nice! There has never been the ambivalent "oh how nice" from anyone, which makes it a lot easier! No worries! You're celebrating Disney style!
