Celebrating Birthday in WDW!!!

I'll be in WDW for my birthday in a few weeks. DH and I have long since dropped the "commando" routine so we really have a vacation when we're in WDW these days.

I was wondering what we could do that would be special. I mean, hey...I'll be in "my" special place already.

But what would YOU do if you were in WDW for YOUR birthday??

My birthday is right in the beginning of the year, and I never thought I would ever get there for the date. We did this year, mostly visiting friends in Tarpon Springs. However, just the one night DH and I came to WDW, we stayed at POP (out of points) and we had dinner at California Grill...it filled the bill for me.

I don't know if you will be with others (8 total), but someone recently said good things about the Fireworks cruise that is part of Grand Gathering planning. What do you like? I and some friends did the Seas Epcot (something like snorkeling in the tank at the Living Seas) tour and I would do that again in a minute! I'm doing the FW Segway tour in 2 weeks. Do you like Massages?

We were in WDW on DD's 13th b-day last August.

For breakfast, we did CRT & for dinner, we ate in Norway.

We took an Illuminations Celebration Cruise after dinner. The boat was decorated with a banner, etc. & I'd pre-ordered a b-day cake which was delivered directly to our boat.

I also arranged for DD to get a manicure at the Periwigs salon at the Beach Club.

get a birthday pin - either at the resort or guest services in the parks (city hall at the MK). then wear it!

Oh I plan on getting my birthday pin, much to the dismay of DH!!! He thinks I'm too "mature" to be wearing that and I told him to "get over it". I was getting my pin and I was going to proudly wear it in WDW!!

It's just DH and myself. Funny but lastnight he mentioned going to the Spa for a nice massage.

I'd love to be part of a Grand Gathering. I did some research on something I saw last time at Epcot. Along the side of the lake there were tables being set up close to closing and you could tell they were setting up for some sort of dessert service. Well it was part of a Grand Gathering event. I thought that was cool; sitting while sipping a cool cocktail or soft drink and watching Illuminations. Oh well...I'll just have to round up 6 more people for the next trip!!

For DH's birthday last Monday we had breakfast at Boma, sat by the pool then had a massage at SSR Spa and finsihed the day with a nice relaxing meal at the Yachtsman Steakhouse

Well, my birthday is in March, so for some future birthday, I plan to visit Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland for Tigers spring training. I guess that wouldn't work for a summer birthday. Or for most people outside of Michigan. Or for anyone who wanted to spend all their WDW time at WDW.

I've had a couple of friends who've celebrated their birthdays at WDW. Some key events were the wearing of themed custom t-shirts, pre-ordered birthday cake, greetings from the diver at the Coral Reef, and the wearing of the birthday button for the entirety of the vacation.

Thank you all for your suggestions!! One thing is for sure; I will have a Birthday button and I will be wearing that!!!

Right now I'm leaning towards a Spa trip and a nice dinner somewhere. We still can't decide where we want to go due to the fact that neither of us will have "dinner atire" with us. We have to dress in "business" attire all week, all year so the thoughts of bringing a dress (even a sun dress) or slacks is just not an option. But regardless of where we wind up, I know I'll have the best birthday ever; I'm in WDW and I'm with my husband!

If you are scuba certified, definitely do Dive Quest. If not, they supposedly have one that is like Snuba where the air remains on the surface. Supposed to be really cool.

I would also recommend a nice dinner- maybe even V&A's.

I am gonna be down there the week after my b-day, but am considering it my b-day trip! I plan on wearing the button the whole week too!!! Who says it isn't mature!

they don't require dress up..Its the best if you like sea food. We eat there every time we go. We did the Steakhouse too and if you want you can do the resturant in the Dolphin..its the football coach's place. (very pricey) but you will need res. for all of these places, so do them nowl

My birthday is in March and I've spent many birthdays in my lifetime at WDW. My last one was this March. I had special Tshirts made for all the family members to wear that day.

We did Animal Kingdom first thing in the day and had lunch at Tusker House. Then we switched to MGM/Hollywood studios and ate dinner at the Brown Derby before going to see Fantasmic.

I'm still trying to decide what would be fun for my 40th birthday. I'm thinking about spending the day in Fantasyland, but may opt for a spa treatment and California Grill.

I'm still trying to decide what would be fun for my 40th birthday. I'm thinking about spending the day in Fantasyland, but may opt for a spa treatment and California Grill.

(Youth and age both have their perks, I'll just assume at 40, I still get both.)

Well I'm still up on you; this will be my 58th birthday! I definately don't feel my age, most of the time! But like you, I'm strongly leaning towards spending the day in the MK with an afternoon spa treatment over at the Grand Floridian and then dinner with DH. The dinner part isn't set yet and to be quite honest, it's not a major deal. I'm just so thrilled to be spending my day in WDW with DH.

For my 40th, I went to breakfast at Cinderella's royal table. That was back when they gave kids certificates for their birthday and had them all named with their age given to stand at the end of breakfast and have Happy Birthday sung. Most of the kids standing were 4, 6, 7, etc. and then there was me, at 49. It was fun! My nieces got a kick out of it.
