:goodvibes We are celebrating my daughter's 8th b-day while we are staying at the Fort 7/30. Is there anything I could have done special for her?
Will any of the bakeries deliver a cake to her or balloons???
Thank you for any help.

While we were there in June, I celebrated a birthday. I notified the front desk at check-in that it was my birthday and they graciously gave me a birthday pin, to which (whenever a CM saw it) they would yell out "Happy Birthday" to me. It was so fun. But the neatest thing was when they gave me the birthday pin they asked me who my favorite character was and said that I would get a surprise delivered to our cabin. Sure enough, we were presented with an autographed photo of my stated favorite character (and buddies) in front of the Magic Kingdom castle in this nice frame. By the way, we went to the bakery at Magic Kingdom and I bought a slice of chocolate cake to celebrate. They didn't pick up the tab on it or anything, darn it. :)

We were there for my daughter's 13th bd last year and told them when we made our reservations and when we checked in. They gave us a birthday pin for her but that was it. No balloons or character stuff. I've heard sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. She did get to go up on stage at the campfire program along with about 10 other people celebrating their b-day.

When she wore her pin to MK the CM's wished her a happy birthday.

You can order a cake (that is usually made at the CR) and costs $12.50. They are planning on out sourcing this very soon and upping the price to $21.00. I would call (if this is of interest to you) and see if they have upped the prices yet. If not, I would go for it before the price increase...

We celebrated my kids 8th and 13th b-days at Chef Mickey for dinner and it was FANTASTIC! They really recognized them as b-day boy and girl and decorated our table with confetti and place mats they could take home. I ordered a cake when I made my adv. ressie and it was the cutest thing...very detailed with Mickey and Minnie and my kids names. You can get one for less money and no names and it is smaller than the one I got but IMHO don't order one! They will bring you cupcakes with candles(or you can get your own and decorate it!) and by then you don't want any more food anyway. It was really neat but a waste of money on the cake I think! Pluto even helped the kids open some of their presents!

I have a number somewhere that is a birthday/special occasion line (cakes, flowers, balloons, etc.) PM me if you need it.

Get the pin at check in and make sure your child wears it the whole time you are there! YOU WILL get sick of "Happy Birthday ----" but some days you may also get a special treat! My kids got to the front of the line a couple of times, and got lots of pins from CM and we also got our table decorated and a birthday cupcake:eek: at Crystal Palace one morning for breakfast. They also got fairy dust and a pin at DTD on day! Sometimes these things happen for no reason, but with a b-day pin with their name on it, they get to at least "feel" special everyday! On some of the rides(HM, ToT, especially), the kids would forget about the pin and really freak when a CM would have a conversation with them and use their name!

You can't go too overboard, it is Disney after all, but even if you don't do much, it is such a great memory to have just being there!:thumbsup2

We were at WDW for DH bday last May. He wore the birthday pin, it was funny how cast members and guests randomly wished him a happy birthday. We went to the Coral Reef for his birthday dinner, when I made the ressie over the phone, I let the cast member know we were celebrating and she hooked me up with the manager of the Coral Reef. She was AWESOME!!! If you email photos of the birthday boy/girl, man/woman, they create a special menu with those photos. Also, she asked if I would like a diver to go in the tank and hold up a birthday sign...he dove right in front of our table!!! Best of all, this was FREE!!!!! It was quite memborable. My DH is hard to surprise and especially hard to impress. :woohoo: He was AMAZED. We kept the menu and took tons of pictures of the diver (not many came out b/c of flash :scared: ) I highly recommend it.

I also ordered a gift basket from Disney Florist to be delivered on his bday. It was a metal drink tub w/ a beer from every country in Epcot, pretzels and misc snacky stuff. It was pirate themed so he got a pirate hat, patch, an awesome mickey bottle opener, I found some pirate themed party supplies at the dollar store total did up our room!!! He thought I was just decorating b/c that the thing to do in your rooms, little did he know.... pirate:

We've celebrated a couple birthdays at Disney. We always get free desserts and a phone call from Goofy! We were told we would get balloons and such, but never did :confused3
My daughter did BBB on her birthday and got a special "birthday Princess" sash!

Here is my birthday cake that was delivered to Coral Reef:

I was given a pin and balloons as well as an autographed Pic of Cinderella in the side view of the castle. When I wore the pin into the parks I had quite a few CM's tell me Happy Birthday and also was given a extra pin when pin trading!!!
