Celebrating anniversary at WDW

I need some advice on special things to do to celebrate our anniversary at Disney world. We were there 9 years ago for our honeymoon and this will be the first time back for an anniversary. This was sort of last minute because of the free dining offer so we're doing it as cheap as we can. It was DH's idea to go which is a shock in itself. Anyway, I want to do something special for him. I'd like it to be a surprise and it needs to be as INEXPENSIVE as possible. We agreed not to do gifts for each other since we are taking this trip instead. So I need to get creative. Any ideas????

Well you can take a carriage ride at Port Orleans Riverside or at Ft. Wilderness. The cost is $30.00 for a 30 min ride. This could be nice and inexpensive idea.

Make sure you get the Anniversary buttons (like the b-day ones) Free, and lots of CMs wishing you a Happy Anniversary!

Where does one get these buttons? We will be there in May celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary.

I'm assuming from your signature picture that your DH plays the drums and likes music. You could go to Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk, a dueling piano bar. It is great fun. I am not sure of the current cover charge, but I think it is in the $10 range. The only other costs would be for whatever you drink.
Jellyrolls is an over 21 adult only club, you didn't mention if you had children with you or not. At Jellyrolls they take song requests and the crowd really gets into the fun. It is lively and a really good time
It is fun, and free, to walk around the Boardwalk, either before or after you go to Jellyrolls.

Do you get these at City Hall like the birthday ones?

The EPCOT Garden Grill restaurant in the Land Pavilion has a "renew your vows" ceremony during the meal. A waiter asks you to stand up and renew your vows and you get a certificate. It takes only a minute and could be fun. The restaurant is nice, has good food, and rotates 360 degrees each hour. It might be more than you want to pay.

I thought I read on here (Disboards) that the GG is no longer doing this? anyone know? :confused3

We spent our honeymoon at disney - now we're going for our 10 YEAR anniversary with our two children. We'll be there in May as well. Where do you get the buttons???

Thank you for your responses. Yes we will be travelling with our 3 yo. son so I guess Jellyrolls would be out but I know my husband would enjoy it. We did a carriage ride on our trip in Jan. and it was wonderful. That is a good thought. I could maybe surprise him with another one. I hadn't really thought about that.

Any other ideas. I still have a few months to think about it but I am such a planner it is definitely on my mind right now. Thanks again.

You can get the buttons the same place as the birthday ones. At MK I'm pretty sure it's City Hall. Don't know where they are at the other parks. Everyone have a great anniversary!

Thanks for the info, I thought the only buttons were for birthdays!

Edited to add: We will be in Epcot on the actual day, does anyone know where to get the buttons in Epcot?

I know you said that you can get free buttons, but; you can also buy buttons that say "happy anniversay" and they have Minnie and Mickey dancing. Me and DH got matching ones and I thought they were cute. I'll try to post picutures later. Pretty much anything you do will be special, CM's always ask if you're celebrating a special occasion. When we had breakfast at CP we were given a signed certificate from Pooh and friends that said "happy anniversary" we also had a card in our room from Cinderella and Prince Charming.

Yes, this has been discountinued.

If you let the host or hostess know at most restaurants, they will decorate your table for the occasion and most will bring you some sort of a small cake. DW and I celebrated our 25th at Disney and both Crystal Palace and O'Hana's did something for us. In fact O'Hana's gave us a window seat with a castle veiw.

We did not get a card in the resort room (CBR) but the mousekeepers left us a towel animal in the shape of 2 swans in a heart shape. It was just the cutest thing.

It was a great time there.

Here's a picture of the anniversary pins me and dh wore. It only took me a day to figure out how to post it :)
