:earsgirl: We are going to WDW for Halloween this year for our 10 wedding anniversary ( we were married May 14 1994 at the Yacht Club gazebo) We chose October for our visit because we have never been for Halloween. I want to do something special for my dh but I'm not sure what. I looked into renewing vows but it is out of our price range. We are staying at the Movie Resort and are no strangers to WDW. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

We are celebrating our 12th anniversary at WDW in July. We have ps for the ice cream social at the Garden Grill. I have requested the rehitching ceremony. I have read other threads about the rehitching ceremony and it sounds like fun. I like the idea that we can do it with the kids.

I copied this from another thread as I'm not sure how to post a thread address:

When you check-in at the restaurant, have your DH send mom away (powder her nose or something) to distract her. Then dad checks-in and reminds the CM that they want to do the rehitching ceremony. (Sometimes they might miss the note on your PS. )

After your meal, your server should announce to everyone within earshot that he/she was not able to attend your wedding so you are going to re-do your vows at Disney to make it official! You'll be asked to stand by your table and repeat your "I do's." Then comes the FUN!!!

You get to kiss while everyone counts to 100!!!!!!!!!!!

They count from 1 to 10 by 1's -- sometimes the server will drag this out a little -- then from 10 to 100 by 10's.

At meals, they may bring you a complimentary cake and you should get a certificate to commemorate the magical moment.

Be sure to bring a camera! Sometimes other servers and maybe even characters participate. It's kinda silly, sort of loud, and just a teensey-bit embarassing ... but it is a terrific magical moment you will remember forever.

Thanks for the tip that sounds like just what I want. Do you know if they do it at any other restaurants or just at the Grill?

DW and I have celebrated years 4-9 with our kids and this year will be #10. Years 8, 9 and 10 have been at WDW. The rehitching ceremony is great, but no they do not do this at other locations, just Garden Grill. If you do it at an off time for dinner, you have pretty much the characters to yourself. When DW and I did it, Mickey was the best man and even tried to stand in for me. It was a blast.

My parents did it for their 25th anniversary this past December. My dad wouldn't go for a formal thing at the church, so this was a compromise. My husband and I joined them at the Garden Grill.

It was so much fun. We had our meal, and then a cast member came and some characters came and they had to kiss. I have their 25th anniversary picture with them and Chip (or Dale) holding their certificate.

You should tell the person when you make your PS, and then remind them when you check in.

:earsgirl: Thanks everyone for your input. I have never been to the Garden Grill so this will be a treat for me also. All I have to do is try and plan this without DH finding out!

We just celebrated our 10th on May 14th as well. We took the kids to Spirit of Aloha for the evening, it was magical. The couple at the table next to us were also celebrating their 10th, they called couples up to the front for a special dance. We got a great family photo taken on the way in at sunset. Our family loved it. We also did the rehitching ceremony the night before at GG it was fun, but the staff were not very welcoming that night and we just didn't feel the magic like we did aloha spirit of family like we did at the dinner show. (Could also be the wine talking!) Anyway, I highly recommend Spirit of Aloha for a wonderous 10th Anniversary celebration.
