There is a segment in CTM with cogs and mechanical things and I have no idea what it's from and I've been trying to figure it out! Help!

(The top right two are exactly what I am referring to!)

Thanks for the info!

Those ear hats are just steampunk designs. The only Disney animated movie I can think of that has a scene with cogs and wheels is The Great Mouse Detective.

Hmm ok. I actualy just found a video of the section of CTM after you said that.
Starting at 57 seconds
It's just "steam punk" as you call it?

Yup.
It's just a reference to a "design fad" or subcultural cosplay style (steampunk) that's kind of hot right now.

More HERE.

Not "from" anything Disney that exists outside the parks at all.

Same situation as the steampunk-design of the fire-breathing dragon in MK's Festival of Fantasy Parade.

I would assume the animated sequence during CtM would have to be from some Disney animated movie though, and the scene in TGMD would make sense since it's the final battle with the villain.

I just looked at the Big Ben "gears" climatic sequence of TGMD again.
I don't see much connection to steampunk.

Regardless, a great many scenes and sequences in CtM stand completely on their own, and don't come from a reference to a Disney animated movie.
They are just designed to look interesting and entertaining projected in conjunction with the shapes of the castle turrets and other facade elements.

I'm thinking that one or more of the Disney spectacle designers is a fan of steampunk.
