Hi,

I just made my 180 day ADRS the other day and am still not sure about one choice. I will be taking my son for the first time - he will almost be 2 wehn we go. I booked a variety of character and family-style meals (with Le Cellier and Coral Reed thrown in). Our last full day I pan to MK meals. Rigth now I have breakfast at Ohanas and Dinner at WC (I love WC).

I'm still wondering about breakfast. I heard wonderful things about Ohana and I'm Stich and Pluto are fun. But right now my son LOVES Mickey and I was wondering if I should change it to Chef Mickeys. My orignal thouhts were Chef Mickeys alwasy seemes crowded and there might be less character time for my son. Also I know Contemporary Grille will be closed and I'm concerned that there will be constrcution going on in that area which is right near Chef Mickeys. Another thought was Ohanas is family style so I won't have to be getting up an down to get food.

That all being said - I want the best time for my son. So what do you think? Ohanas or Chef Mickeys?

Thanks

I have dined at both and I don't think you can go wrong at either restaurant.

When we went last trip, our son was about to turn 2 and we dined at both places. He enjoyed both immensely.

If your son loves Mickey then change it so he can see Mickey. Character interaction is really quite good at CM's. I have never had a problem there.

I know you might think I am crazy but Chef Mickey not only because it's fun but my 2 nephew not only loved Mickey but the biggest hit was the monorail coming through the building!

I haven't been to Ohana's for breakfast (although we might this year) so I can't comment on that. However this past Sept we ate at Chef Mickey's for breakfast and absolutely loved it!! My son was 2 at the time and he really had a great time. There was alot of character interaction & they spent plenty of time with us - we were not rushed at all. Plus the food was great & the service was great also. We've already got our ADR for this Sept & are definitely looking forward to Chef Mickey's.

Mickey is at 'Ohanas in the morning too. We were there for breakfast last year and we loved it!!!! Our daughter who was 2 going on 3 at the time had an absolute blast!! They do a parade around the restaurant and Mickey came over and grabbed my daughter by her hand and handed her a marraca (sp?) and they lead the parade!!! It was great!!!! The food was really good too! I would definitely do 'Ohanas!!! :thumbsup2

I've been to both, and I say Ohana's definitely. I loved the character interaction at Ohana's much better. Also, I don't like the buffet idea much. I actually missed a couple of characters while waiting in line for food. Oh yeah, Mickey is at Ohana's so you don't have to switch just to see Mickey.

Ohana felt crowded and the brining of the food to the table on big plates makes service slower than a buffet. The characters there were fun and the kids parading around were cute.

Chef Mickey is airy, open and LOUD. The kids loved it, the food was hot and fresh and fast. The singing and napkin twirling are fun for all!

If you want a faster meal try chef mickey...if buffet's are not your thing then Ohana might be perfect

Thanks for the input everyone - still a touhg decision to make. We enjoy breakfast while on vacation - it seems at home it is always a rush meal and it's nice to start the day with a breakfast you usually don't have at home.

I am at Disney 6 days and have 5 breakfasts. I'm staying at BWV and booked following brekfasts:
Cape May
Hollywood & Vine (my son loves Little Einsteins)
Tusker House
Ohanas (or should it be Chef Mickey)
Cape May

Since I'm at BWV Cape May is the most convenient Character Breakfast (and I like it). The day we arrive MK is is EMH evening. We should get to our hotel around noon depending on ME and I have dinner at Liberty Tree that night.
I was planning our first full day at MK as well. But depending upon what we do on our of arrival and how later we're at MK the first full day may change. That's why I pciked CAPE MAY for breakfast. I figured since it's by our report we can go anywhere that day. And of course Cape My is convenient for our last day.

I can switch out WC dinner for Chef Mickey Dinner, but we alll REALLY like WC. So maybe I'll just toss a coin. Though I'd like to try Ohanas (read so many good things on the boards) I may be leaning towards changing to Chef Mickey's. Decisions, decisions...

Thanks Again

I have eaten and both and Mickey was at both Ohana and Chef Mickey's when we were there.

Chef Mickey's Character are usually. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy & Pluto

Ohana has Lilo, Stitch, Mickey (definatley) and Donald and Goofy (if I remember correctly)

We did both Chef Mickey's and Ohana on this last trip and definitely liked Chef Mickey's better!
