Cedar Point Halloween nights, info please

That's funny cause DH was shocked that it was on a commercial in NJ since the park is in Ohio... :earseek:

I would assume that the commercial was on in NJ because Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom (located 20 minutes across the New Jersey border) is the sister park of Cedar Point and they run the same halloween program. Also, anyone with a Cedar point or Dorney Park season pass can use them at either park anytime during the year.

Halloweekends are OK at the parks but nothing really out of the ordinary. The park is decorated with cobwebs, hearses, tombstones and the like. They have a few people in costume walking around also. They do NOT want people to arrive at the park in full costume (you will be asked to leave if you do.) They usually make the train ride around the park a "scary" one (but not too scary because of the kids in attendance).

There is usually a section set up with various mini houses that are staffed by nursery rhyme characters. The kids can go from house to house to collect candy for free. The best part is, there are not a whole lot of people who go in the early parts of the day. This leaves you plenty of time to go on the best coasters without waiting in line. Downside is the park hours are usually shorter. Have fun.

We go every year...infact just went this past weekend for their first Halloweekend. I had to stay with Mabel at the camper the whole time (I don't care about rides anyway) so I can not tell you much about inside the park. The kids and DH and our other part of our party had a blast as usual though. The park is open until midnight also. They did mention it was alot more crowded than usual.

I always thought the haunted trail and houses were VERY scary...even for an adult....and I am not one that scares easily with those type of things.

The Top Thrill Dragster was also closed already for the season so alot of my people were disappointed.

We had GREAT weather though!!! We brought our camper and my sister and her BF rented one of the cabins on the lake by the campground and it was really, really cute. Mabel and I spent alot of time on the deck at their cabin just watching the boats go by and soaking up some sun.

The kids are already talking about next years trip!!

Aren't those cabins great? We had one on July 2 but not one on the water--too bad, because the sunset view is great from there.
We haven't been to Halloweekends since 01--we would like to go this year but don't know; I need brakes before we spend money at CP. Anyhow, one other downside then was that a lot of the workers are back at school so they really scaled back the open food stands. There were always food lines, so if you see a stand with a small line go for it.
