Cdw and ep "included": Code use killers?

I have read with great interest the debate about using a rather generous Vroom Vroom code for Alamo. The discounts are phenomenal. This rate also carries CDW and EP as "included." But if something were to actually happen and you are not the intended code user, it appears to me you would be in deep doo-doo. While some probably don't mind rolling the dice, seems like quite a gamble, does it not?

Use of any code that you are not entitled to might get you into trouble. The rental company or hotel reserves the right to refigure your rate as if you have no code or reservation and/or dishonor some perks advertised with the code.

So for example if you use the Entertainment Book code, you should bring the Entertainment Book out of which you got the code. (In this example I suppose that if your EB was in checked baggage that got lost then a copy of your baggage claim form from the airline will substitute.)

The biggest issue of using a code you are not authorized to use would be in the event of a claim, especially of coverage is included with the rate. In these cases, proof of eligibility will be sought and if you are not eligible, you could be deemed in violation of the contract and the contract null and void. This then means your personal insurance would be involved (which is not a big deal in itself), but they too may give you a tough time because you were in contract violation and they would have every reason to deny your claim as well.
