Ok, CDoobee told me I should have made a new thread when I posted Day 2, so here it is. Day 1 can be found here.
Here's day 2:
Today, 7/29, was DS Katelyn's 12th birthday, so we decided she would choose which parks we hit. She said she wanted to start at MK, then finish at Epcot for Illuminations. Armed with our Hidden Mickey scavenger hunt books, we grabbed a bus to MK. Our first stop was Guest relations, where we asked for a Guidebook for Guests with Disabilities for me, and a birthday pin for Katelyn. The CM asked her name and where she was from, then said he was pretty sure there was a message waiting for a Katelyn from Missouri. He handed her the phone, and she got to hear Goofy sing "Happy Birthday." How cute is that?
Next, we headed for Fantasyland to hit my favorite ride, IASW. We rode once, then they asked if we wanted to go again, so we said, sure! We found 1 out of 3 of the hidden Mickeys that were supposed to be there ... not a good start. Hehe Next, DS and I headed to Tomorrowland for Extraterrorestrial Alien Encounter. Bear in mind I have experienced this attraction many times. The CM looked at me and said, "I'm sorry, you don't meet the height requirement." I said, "Oh, I know, but I don't mind." You see, it's not a safety issue, it's that the headphones that let you hear all the creepy sounds don't quite go down far enough to hit me ears, they stop about an inch above. But I can hear well enough. But the guy said, "I'm sorry, you can't go in." I was shocked. I said, "But I've done this like half a dozen times!" He still refused me entry. I understand when it's a safety issue, like a harness won't fit you right, but this was truly irritating. Katelyn didn't want to go without me, so we just skipped it.
After searching Tomorrowland for more hidden Mickeys (and found them ALL in CoP ... Woohoo!
), we went to see the Share a Dream Come True Parade. I got a real kiss from Tigger, and air kisses from Cinderella and Ariel! Teehee We shared a veggie burger and fries from Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe during the parade, then I got some McDonald's fries from ... Frontierland, I believe. While DM and DS rode HM and Peter Pan, I went to see the Tiki Birdsand fell asleep! It was so cool, and they were singing, and.. I awoke when I realized everyone was leaving. I'd only missed the very end, but still felt pretty stupid.
We finally headed over to Epcot, but realized Future World was already closed, which was what Katelyn was really looking forward to seeing! We watched her play in the fountain that shoots up out of the ground for almost an hour. She was soaked! We then found a fairly decent spot to watch the parade, then shopped a little in MouseGear before heading back. Katelyn realized she had lost her birthday button, and was quite disappointed. The Guest Relations booth was already closed, so we couldn't replace it ... yet.
Stay tuned for Day 3!
