Looking at flying out of Buffalo to MCO for the first time. Looking at Southwest Airlines...I am a little concerned though...i'd love to hear your experience with them, pros/cons, etc.

Mainly im worried that we'll book and Southwest will change the flights on us...also worried about delays etc.

We're so used to flying out of YYZ on AirCanada but we can get a wicked deal on Southwest flying non-stop.

Love to hear your thoughts...

Since SW doesn't book as far in advance, there are very rarely schedule changes. I've flown them many times without problems. About the only con is you don't get an assigned seat. Boarding is by the order of check-in and you pick any open seat.

SWA rarely changes its schedule. We've flown them for years and have been happy. The lack of seat assignment is kind of annoying. Either get online to check in at EXACTLY 24 hours before your flight or pay for Early Bird Check In if you want to insure a low boarding number. SWA boards A's (1-60), then families with small children, then B's (1-60), then C's (1-60). Some medical preboards might occur, too.

thanks for the advice!! I think im going to take the plunge and book with Southwest!

You won't regret it. They are very reliable and most FA's are a lot of fun. And I find their boarding process a plus. It's VERY organized. As long as you check-in on-line early, you board in order and have the entire plane to choose your seat from. Just allow sufficient time for possible delays crossing the border.

Fellow Canadian here and this will be our 3rd trip on SWA next Sunday:cool1:
Granted their prices are not as good as the last 2 years, but still saves me tons by driving down to BUF. Since we have a 2 year old with us, we have had no problems with boarding as they let the families between A and B, though I always get an A boarding pass, so we get to go in before and pick our seats.

The airport at BUF is so much faster and easier to get around as opposed to YYZ. We have not had a flight cancelled so far, though last year on our way down to MCO, they were asking for volunteers to be bumped. If we did not have kids, we would have taken the later flight down and flown for free this year.

Good luck. I'm sure you will Luv them;)
