I know there are a number of posts on the options, but I am wonderin what people who have done this before would do in this case:

2 adults 2 children arrive CDG terminal 3 18:00 Sunday.

We have previously taken the TGV, but found it really, really stressful as we didnt realise before hand that we had to go to a different terminal, and had no idea how to get to the other terminal.

But the VEA takes soooo long!

There are 3 TGVs between 7pm and 7.30pm, and then not another one until 8.30pm (AFAIK)

THe VEA goes at 7, 7.30 and 8pm.

We want to get there as soon as possible, as we want to see the fireworks & parades etc (would really like to get to annual pass office before 8pm but dont see much chance of that happening!).

So its all going to depend on how quick we can get out of the terminal. How long does it normal take from aircraft landing, to getting baggage and out of terminal?

Say we are out and just able to get the VEA at 7pm, should be at disney for say 7.45-8pm?

But say due to the extra time to get to the TGV, we can only get the one at 7.30pm, we'll be there at 7.45 roughly too?

Which would you go for?

I agree that getting to the AP bureau before 8pm; while disappointing, looks highly unlikely.

There are those who highly rate the TGV but for me if you are travelling with children makes the extra transfer between the terminals just not fun. You sound that you have already experienced this.

For me the comparison would be between VEA and private shuttle. The private shuttle might not be that more expensive and I would guess get you to DLP faster :)

There is a new internal train that connect CDG terminals, CDGVAL (started april this year). It takes you from your terminal to T2, where is the TGV station. And it will only takes 7 minutes to arrive.

I used this internal train only once, but it's far tooo easy, compared to take the bus to another terminal, even with children

It does look like it may be easier than the last time I went, having to use the
bus, but I may wait and see what time we are out of the terminal.

How much more expensive is it to buy the tickets at the TGV station, as opposed to buying them online before, and it is obvious what route no etc to choose when buying from the machine? (I dont speak French, and last time, no one in the ticket office seemed to speak English)

Thanks

The advantage of advanced purchase is not a different ticket price on the same train, but the posibility of choosing another train, sometimes 15 mins later, with a cheaper price.

But I really don't know if it's more expensive or not to pick up your ticket in advance (for the same train, I mean)

Can anyone please direct me to where I can get more info about the TGV transfer please? How much does this cost and how long does it take to get to DRP? Where does the TGV stop at disney? thanks

www.tgv.com.

How much does this cost and how long does it take to get to DRP?
Diferent prices at diferent moments of the day. From 11.50 GBP to 17.50GBP (per adult)
It takes 10 minutes from CDG to Disneyland

Where does the TGV stop at disney?
On the RER/TGV station, where you can pick buses to your hotel

We're flying over by EasyJet - would we have to change terminals to get the TGV to DLP? When you get off the train at DLP are the shuttle buses free to take you to the hotel or do you have to pay to get on them?

We're 2 adults and it sounds a far better option than the VEA bus? Can you book tickets in advanca or is it better to buy them on the day?

Any help would be welcomed! :)

Hello and welcome to the DIS Welshgal

Easyjet fly into Terminal 3, while the TGV station is at Terminal 2. When you walk out of T3, turn right and walk a few hundred yards to the CDGVAL. This runs approx. every 5 mins and will take you about 5 mins to get to the TGV station stop.

You can buy tickets three months in advance, and the general rule is that the sooner you buy the cheaper it is - on the day you'll probably pay the full price. It's easy to buy them online.

Have a look at this thread, which you can also find in the Useful Information Sticky at the top of the page. :)

hi bexx - thanks for the useful thread. so are you saying that it is cheaper to buy the TGV ticketsin advance? to do this do you need to say which tine train you are going to get or can you get an open ticket (just in case teh flight is delayed or something)?? thanks, debxx

You'll book a specific date, time and even place reservation, but tickets are exchangeable so you can change to a later train and whatever. Only thing I do not know (and it wasn't answered yet in the forums) is if you have to pay a fee or ar least some kind of addon when you exchange a ticket on site.

Anyone knowing more?
