Wait what happened to the "by April" thing!?
I just want a vaccine......
We could absolutely have herd immunity before every single person is vaccinated.Wait what happened to the "by April" thing!?
Oh so you mean us posters weren't crazy for being skepticalThat was retracted when supply issues came up. I believe Fauci and others started saying by the end of summer/early fall everyone would be vaccinated. May is fabulous news. Hope it stays true. Maybe summer won't be a bust after all...... I just hate to get too hopeful.
I get why you think that based on your anecdotal experience. But let me show you something. View attachment 559979
That's 130m fully vaxxed people by the end of March. That's 50% of the eligible population. If Mod and Pfizer keep the same pace, not even an increase. That's 120m more doses in April. Then add in whatever JnJ can deliver, let's be conservative and say another 40m doses. That's 210 million vaccinated people by the end of April. We are going to have a demand problem at that point.
That wasn't what I was referring to but that would be great, still think herd immunity is iffy but I do believe that there's more people out there with some undefined lasting immunity just from having undiagnosed covid so I count that as good to think aboutWe could absolutely have herd immunity before every single person is vaccinated.
That’s exactly my premise. And the people here in their 40’s? April still sounds fair to me.That wasn't what I was referring to but that would be great, still think herd immunity is iffy but I do believe that there's more people out there with some undefined lasting immunity just from having undiagnosed covid so I count that as good to think about![]()

My parents will be fully vaccinated by next week and I am obsessively planning a WDW vacation for them in May even though my mom isn’t even all that interested in going.Same. I want my life back, as does everyone else. I have really bad vaccine envy. LOL ! We have friends that got the vaccine and are planning summer trips, and heading to Disney soon. I'm so jealous.
Oh so you mean us posters weren't crazy for being skeptical
But I agree with you that--forward progress is def. happening![]()
Again, vaccines delivered does not equal vaccines administered.
President has just said "enough vaccine for all adult Americans by end of MAY."
Again, that's just available, not administered.
So based on the conversation the other day, do you still believe you won’t be able to get vaccinated until June or July?Again, vaccines delivered does not equal vaccines administered.

When that news is followed up by news like this, it’s hard to get your hopes up high that distribution will match vaccine supply. So based on the conversation the other day, do you still believe you won’t be able to get vaccinated until June or July?
Yeah but I kinda go back to the whole statement of anyone who wants it by April which is the statement that launched the prior discussion. The U.S. isn't projecting based on surveys. For all adult Americans, a quarter to a third of whom currently say they don't want it. So April isn't exactly far fetched if we're only talking about enough doses for those who are interested in getting it ASAP.
