I saw this info this morning:

Swine Flu: People With Diabetes Should Take Antivirals While Traveling
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that people with diabetes who travel, even within the US, should take the antiviral medications Tamiflu or Relenza:

"Antiviral Medications: Persons traveling within the US that are at high risk of severe illness from influenza (for example persons with chronic conditions such as diabetes, lung disease, heart disease, and the elderly) are recommended to take antiviral medications for prevention of swine influenza during travel. The recommended antiviral drugs for swine influenza are oseltamivir (brand name Tamiflu®) and zanamivir (brand name Relenza®). Both are prescription drugs that fight against swine flu by keeping flu viruses from reproducing in your body. These drugs can prevent infection if taken as a preventative. Talk to your doctor about correct indications for using influenza antiviral medications. Always seek medical care if you are severely ill."
More information can be found at the CDC's site:

I might be calling my neuro to ask about that! (i dont really have a GP, so my neuro is my only option)

Are you calling your neuro b/c you have a neuro issue and wonder? I was concerned about the same thing. I have MS and on an immunomodulator (Tysabri) which decreases immunity (a good thing for an autoimmune disease, bad thing for a possible flu pandemic...) I've looked online for guidance from the NMSS and CDC, but haven't seen much. I wonder if the same would go for folks with other autoimmunes on therapy and folks on chemo???

I have Cushing's Disease which lowers your immune system and I'm also on steroids, which lower your immune system as well so I have a double whammy. I also have adrenal problems that would put me in the hospital if I got the flu. I talked to my endocrinologist about it and he said I didn't need to have any Tamiflu or Relenza on hand. He told me to take my regular precautions and live my life.

I am going to DLR with Calvin, oh joy of the huddled masses. Last major flu that I got took me out for a whole month. I have a doctor but rarely see him. I really do not want to go tomorrow because of the crowds and coming off of a reaction.

Thanks for information.
