I'm trying to put a CD onto my MP3 player but Windows Media Player has decided it is really a different album and has remamed the album and the files. The tracks play OK but I can't get it to take the name info from the CD. I can remame the files manually but not the album and it's driving me mad - anyone know how to get it to take the info from the CD?

WMP does not take the info from the CD on its own. It takes acode from the CD and then searches the internet for a match. It may find a few alternative matches and you need to tell it which one you have.

In Options/Library check 'Retrieve additional Info from Internet' and also check 'Only add missing information'

If it is an old back catalogue album or an older 'Best of' or compilation, WMP may struggle to get the correct information from the net

It's a language course. I've renamed everything but it keeps reverting to the nearest match it can find and changing them back - ah well at least I can play the tracks even if they have totally irrelevant names!
