CCV Direct or More Resale (CCV or SSR)

It just amazes me how much unsold inventory the must have at SSR to run a promotion like this given they barely buy any SSR back.

I'm sure they have bought some back as we really only see rofr reports from maybe 2 brokers but I'm also wondering with the fiscal year being in the 2nd quarter are they offering this and then looking over every SSR contract more closely to flip during ROFR.

They also get inventory via foreclosures for nonpayment of dues, but I don’t think anyone here tracks that.

Well, I think I can officially say I will not be making this direct purchase. Not ready to share the full details yet, but let's just say I will soon be posting on another thread that beings with the letter "R" . And, this is going to be a much, much cheaper way to get my dopamine hit. Didn't think it would happen so quick, but it did.

Spoke too soon. Deal fell apart. Seller thought I could take over their monthly dues payment for them rather than having them pay the full 2026 year dues (which I was declining to reimburse). Since I don't really need these points right now, only willing to buy if I don't have to pay those (and get a pretty good price/point deal).

That said, I am reminded of the high you get from scoring a great deal, so I think this has illuminated my path forward. Skip the direct points for now, wait for the right resale deal to come along.

I am late to this party and am probably repeating a lot of what has already been said.

If it was me, I would hold for now. I would not buy CCV direct, and instead load up on CCV resale (if needed) when the time comes.

You have more than enough RIV direct points to stay at any future resort.

If you are 100% sold on CCV direct, then I would absolutely inquire about two studio FW between Week 48-50 (plus whatever you need to hit 300). There’s no downside, those rooms are always in high demand and who knows what the future will hold - you and your DW may decide to use when the kiddos are in college.

Edited to add: or buy two of the same FW studio so each of you kids could use with their own families down the road!

Resale deals are the ultimate dopamine hit. I got a hit from my credit card bonus stacking to buy direct but it was nothing like getting my Aulani fully loaded sub contract at $97pp. My BW at $101 was pretty good too. Good luck! I am rooting for you!!
