CCV 2 or 1 bedroom…

So we recently became dvc members and agreed we would buy enough points to go every other year and stay in a 2 bedroom. We live in NH and figured less costs for flights and we are used to 2 bedrooms at Sheraton Vistana.

My question is, How are the 1 bedrooms at CCV compared to 2? I could make every year work or 2 out if 3 if we do 1 bedrooms.

How big is your traveling party? The 1 bedrooms at CCV allow a max of 4 people, age 3 or older, plus an infant under the age of 3. A portable Pac 'n Play is provided for the infant. There is a king bed in the bedroom and a queen sleep sofa in the living room.

2 adults and currently a 6 and 2 year old.

The 1 bedroom would fit you all, but the 2 bedroom is always amazing! A king, 2 queens, and the pull out couch. WAY overkill, but it all depends on how the kids sleep.

Plus two bathrooms and if you get a dedicated two bedroom, each kid gets his/her own bed, and no one is sleeping in the living room/kitchen area, which leaves it open for early or late risers.

We have done both. If there are only 4 (with 2 young kids), the 1 BR will be plenty large.
When we when with our son and his wife, the 2BR was really nice.

My kids are of the age where they're currently ok still sharing a pullout bed on vacation so we book 1 bedrooms for now. We expect the kids to age out of this in a few years and plan to bump up to the 2 bedroom, hopefully with a small add on to soften the blow. If we don't add on, we'll have to stretch our yearly trips to every 1 1/2 years.

Now, at a resort like Saratoga, where there is a Murphy bed instead of the pullout, plus the twin size pull down, we could make that work a lot longer. CCV is our favorite though, so we'll still want to stay there at least every other trip.

Yes we have only stayed at BLT 2 bedroom on rented points and now will be staying at AKL and GFV 2 bedrooms this November. Our plan was CCV 2 bedroom for fall 2024 but I can make 7 nights work in a CCV 1 bedroom if I buy some points from disney for fall 2023….

If I was in that situation I’d opt for the 1 bedroom. We have spent a week there and didn’t feel too cramped. You are giving up the second bathroom but it’s doable. The couch bed is ok for kids, I wouldn’t like sleeping on it myself. The way I see it, you have a short window with kids where the magic of Disney is real so I want to go as much as possible while they’re young.
