I may have to buy a DVC AP today before going home where all my cc rewards details are stored. I have a regular Disney Visa, a Chase Sapphire Preferred and both SW Visas as well a an Amex Blue Preferred. Does anyone know which of these cards would give me the best rewards on a park ticket and if a park ticket codes as travel?? DH has the Chase Sapphire Reserve so I could use that as well.

OK, I looked things up for you online. I hope I didn't make any mistakes.

Disney - 1%
Chase Sapphire Preferred - 2x points on "travel" (not sure if a park pass counts, but I think it would)
Southwest - 1 point on non-SWA purchases
Amex Blue Preferred - 1%
Chase Sapphire Reserve - 3x points on "travel"

It looks like the Chase Sapphire Reserve gives you the most bang for your buck. I would go with that one if you're collecting points there or the Amex Blue Preferred which gives you cash back.

i know the best idea on getting a good deal for an AP is to buy a multiple day pass at Underground Tourist site that will code 3x on CSR, then going to the ticket office and upgrading that ticket to an AP.
Your other solution, is to seek out Disney Gift Cards at Grocery stores that should get you 6% with your Amex Blue Preferred, then buying an AP with those Gift Cards.

I was under the impression that the OP was *at* WDW. But yes, I buy tickets from UT and upgrade them when I get to WDW.

Yes your Chase Reserve card will be coded as travel expense if you buy tickets. If you pay your DVC dues with the Reserve card it gets credited as travel as well. I paid $300 of our DVC dues in Dec (we got our Reserve card in Nov.) and got the $300 credit on our credit card. Then in Jan I paid the rest of our dues and got another $300 credit on the Reserve card.
