Anyone know how it works ? And yes that’s how my trip ended.. mind you it’s little so maybe they won’t even notice but if they do

Well I can't speak to minor damage.. However we totaled a deer in Wyoming a couple of years ago on our summer vacation.

$15K Damage to the mini van. Called the CC company about 30 minutes after it happened got all the instructions from them. Followed them to the letter. Rental company (Alamo) dropped off a replacement Van the next morning and continued on our journey.

When we returned it (the working Van) I expected them to need us to sign paperwork or something. Guy said nope glad you were all alright we will be in touch.

The sent me a bill, CC company took it from there. They went back and forth for a few months (everyone told me on both sides it would take a few months). In the end got letters from both noting claim paid and cleared.

Honestly it was a very straightforward process. Just make sure you contact the CC company and document, document, document...

Please also check your own personal car insurance policy. We have rental car coverage automatically included in our policy and I may be mistaken but I think most do .

i have that too but if it’s a claim I’d rather go through CC company than have my revalue car insurance go up I think .
I told my son and he walked around the car looking and didn’t spot it so here’s hoping

We also always take pictures all the way around when we pickup and when we drop off.

It's been helpful in the past especially with devices today showing GPS in the metadata...

Most do,,but some have it as an add on tjat is not included. Better to have both than none,,or pay the rental company for their insurance...its steep

In Ontario it is optional coverage, not mandatory. Insured's should check their policy to be sure it is included

Hi All
Yes I have rental car insurance through my personal car insurance .
I would obviously rather use credit car rental insurance as it wouldn’t drive up my personal car insurance rates ..
thanks tho

Check to see if your credit card insurance is primary or secondary...
