Is it better to pre-register for snorkeling equipment at CC before we leave or until we get on the ship? Can we just wait until we are actually on CC to rent the equipment? Is there a chance that snorkel equipment may run out if we wait until we get to CC? Thanks!

I've never heard of them running out. If you reserve ahead of time, you're committed to the cost. If you wait until you get to CCay, you keep the flexibility to change your plans if you decide not to snorkel.

In 33 Disney cruises, I think I can only remember once or twice that they ran out of snorkel equipment. That was way back in the early days of DCL. I don't think that's a very common occurrence anymore. Same thing for the floats.

If you book with AAA, you get a 10% discount on the cost but you must book onboard. As I learned from the boards, you don't need as many floats as people. But the snorkling gear was SUCH a big hit (and I think the bargain of the cruise since kids are only $10 ($9 AAA) ) and all the kids used theirs.

You can always buy snorkeling equipment now (probably on clearance for $4-$8) and bring it with you. Life vests, which are mandatory on family beach, are supplied for free.
