CBS’s Ghosts tv show

I didn't think I'd like Ghosts, (CBS version), but gave it a shot. It's really funny. I can't wait for each week's episode.

I will say, I didn't know about the British version. It looks like the first episode of the CBS version is a copy of the BBC version. Are all the episodes like that? I hope we're going to see something different.

Also, where can I watch the BBC version? (please say Netflix or prime)
HBO Max. Only 6 episodes of 23 are based on the BBC version. Everything else is CBS original ideas.

I finished the British show. I couldn’t get past the first couple of seconds of the US version after being invested in the characters of the original show.

They haven’t announced if there will be a 4th season but they filmed a Christmas special with Jennifer Saunders as Fanny’s mom.

It does not seem to. I do not recall a program that started here and was redone in the UK. The UK is weird though, seasons are often only 6 episodes or so.
There is a list online with several American shows that inspired British versions, but they are mostly non-scripted shows, such as game shows or reality shows. One notable exception was Law and Order UK. I assume in all of these cases that the cultural differences called for the British version as opposed to simply importing the American version, which is what usually occurs.

I usually prefer the British originals instead of the American remakes, but I also prefer the original shows instead of reboots. The originals just seem to gel better.

I haven’t heard of this Ghost show. I will have to check it out, both versions.

It’s on cbs tomorrow night.

I think it has been on awhile here in the US. Not familiar with the UK version. Seen several previews and tried watching a few times but if you haven't watched from the beginning, it is hard to know what all is going on with the various characters. There is a difference to me between a show that is a standalone series where you can watch any episode without having to know the back-story of every character vs. shows where unless you watch every episode it is hard to follow the storyline.

Game/reality shows translate better in other countries as someone mentioned previously. For other types of shows, what is funny in one culture may not be in another.

One difference between the two is that the British version is less than 10 episodes a season and the USA version is a full 22 episodes a season. Plots need to be dragged out more and there are more filler episodes. As someone who has family in the Hudson Valley, I appreciate the US version playing up some local humor/jokes about the Hudson Valley.
