CBR, What is the best way.....

to get a good room at the CBR? We are going 4/14 thru the 21st and we tried to get a preferred room but no luck
With two young kids I would love to be close to the food court and the main pool. From the map all of the building look pretty close but after reading some reports on this site (thanks!) I don't want to be stuck in Never-Never land
How do you go about getting a better room? Which ones are the best?

Try across the lake in Jamica or Aruba... I hear they are fairly close too. Unlike Trinidad South and Barbados.

Im going at the end of this month 3/29 and I also have two young kids (3&7) when I called the front desk at the CBR to request a "preferred room" they pretty much said in a "magical" way that there would be a very slim to none chance I would be able to get a "preferred room" due to it being one of the busiest times of the year. He said we'll find out only when we get there.

I would suggest Jamaica also. Aruba is pretty close but across the lake. The only "bad" location is Trinidad South. That is like its own resort. No matter where you walk from it is a beautiful walk.

should I just call and make a request? Or wait until check-in and tip the person at the counter?
Seems to me they must get thousand of requests everyday.

If you want to be close to the food court and main pool keep calling reservations and see if any preferred rooms have opened up.

They aren't allowed to take tips. You can make a request in your reservation, no need to call.

Hi there. I have been lurking for a while gathering info for my next trip. We stayed at CBR last February and were in Barbados. It wasn't that bad a walk to the food court and the kids loved running around the paths and were usually several yards ahead of us (they were 4 and 6 at the time). I know everyone makes a big deal about the distance but it really wasn't that bad and the walk is pretty.
