We got back on the 17th after a week's stay at CBR. We loved it! We stayed in Trinidad South 3719 (water view) and in-laws were in connecting 3720. The rooms were clean, smelled good, lots of light, beautiful view of the beach. The beach, playground & pool were just a few steps from our room. It is quite a walk from Old Port Royale (food & shop), but we liked the walk & our "village" was very quiet. On my dd's 4th b'day, they delivered balloons and a card with a signed 5X7 photo of Cinderella. It was cute, she loved it. I must admit, I was skeptical before going, I read some not so great reports about CBR. However, I am glad I stayed open minded. It was a really nice resort. Only thing that was a pain was carriages. We were the last bus stop most of the time. So getting two carriages on was a chore. Next time if we go back there again (first we have to try other resorts) I would pay the extra money for preferred location rather than water view. That too though is only if I am still lugging carriages around. Now after enjoying my mini vacation from my vacation, I am depressed that I'm home, lol!

Glad to hear you had a great time. Could you do me a favor and copy your report into the CBR FAQ II thread listed below? It will help others when planning their CBR vacation. Thank you.

I also love CBR. WE always stay in Jamaica. It is usually the first bus stop - much more convenient for strollers! You might want to request that village the next time. :sunny:

I am glad to hear your liked CBR. We are considering it for our next stay. So you think the money for the preferred buildings would be worth it. I was really struggling with that but we will also have 2 little kids so maybe it will be worth it.

Becka, it is most definitely worth the money. Not only will the bus stop be more convenient, but it is a lot easier having the food court and the gift shop which sells milk close to your room. Hope you have a great time.

Thanks for the report. Glad to hear you had a great time. I leave for CBR 1 week from tomorrow. I am taking whatever location they give me. I am glad to hear you liked Tinidad South, because I fully expect to be there or Barbados. I have decided to take whatever room/location they give me and I am going to love it! I don't care about the distance, since I will have a car. If it's too far, I will drive. I am looking forward to being in a private area since I am a "crowd-a-phobic". Can you believe it? I love Disney, but I hate crowds! :confused3

My wife and I just got back from WDW/CBR. We were there 8/5-8/12 with our 2 girls (twins-7, oldest-9) and it was truly an all around great experience.

My wife and daughters had never been, myself only once when I was 12 (1977) and we were all just blown away.

The day the new Potter book came out, I happened to pick up an un-official WDW guide. I was a bit dismayed at some of the negative views on CBR, but by this time it was too late to change.

I was able to request a certain building and view, as reccommended by the guide, yet I was sure that I wouldn't get what I wanted. (so of course, me being me, I stressed about it non-stop for weeks)

Much to my surprise, when I checked in, I got everything that I requested, the rooms, the view, the building (TRINIDAD SOUTH, BLDG 35 W/VIEW OF LAGOON).

Everything after that was cake and frosting. The rooms were clean, they were roomy enough (helps having 2 attached rooms though) and everybody was friendly and helpful.

The food court was clean and the food not nearly as bad as people claimed WDW food was. I mean is it gourmet cusine? No, but it doesn't have to be. There are plenty of places at WDW to get facy meals. Port Royale was great for fast food.

The only problem was with the buses (and truthfully just one morning). We had gone to the bus stop to catch a bus to Disney/MGM and waited 45 minutes while multiple buses for each park came and went. We finally wound up driving there, but thatt wasn't too bad.

In all, I highly reccommend CBR and if you read a couple negative things, don't sweat it.

Hope this helps anybody who might be going there and prevents some of the anxiety I experienced pre-trip.

Thanks for the great review. I've been going nuts trying to decide between POR and CBR. THis is our first time staying in a moderate and I think CBR may just fit the bill. We're going to pay for a preferred bldg and request Martinique 25. Does that sound like a good plan to you CBR experts? ANy other helpful hints let me know. Thanks.

Welcome back, glad you had a great trip! :sunny:

Becka, I've stayed in Martinique, building 25, twice and love this location. It sits further back from the parking lots, so it's closer to the beach and Old Port Royal, and even the standard views are of pretty garden-sitting areas :)

Don't forget to check out my web site, I have some pictures and comments from our stays there.

Enjoy! :)
