I am planning a trip to WDW in mid-Jan with my boyfirend. Our first time! Can anyone compare the Caribbean Beach Resort and the Port Orleans for me. I want something that will have easy access to the Disney parks, has good dining, and which one has less kids? Also, since we are going in Jan, would it be a waste to be at the "beach" resort since it will probably be too cold to enjoy it? Thanks so much for any help/suggestions!

I've stayed at both, they are both nice. It depends on what you are looking for. CBR is more tropical theme, there isn't an actual beach. POR is more "old south", one side is mansions (like Gone with the Wind), the other side is more rustic (like Tom Sawyer). Both are going to have lots of kids.

I've stayed at both, and both are nice. I stayed at POR with and without kids. I would recommend POR for a couple w/ no kids, primarily because you can ride a boat to Downtown Disney, where there are several restaurants, along with Pleasure Island.

Dining on-site at either resort isn't exactly top-notch (which is why the boat to DTD is nice). The food court is good for breakfast, but I would recommend going elsewhere for dinner. I enjoyed the poolside bars at both resorts for an afternoon refreshment.

The grounds are nice to walk around at either resort, and at CBR you can see a little bit of the Illuminations show at Epcot (if you're too tired to go in person).

Have fun making the decision. You'll enjoy either place.
