After my fiasco yesterday, I was finally able to find a code that would work for us. I got CBR using the AMEX code for 7/30-8/3 for $417.00 including tax. However, I could also get the Dolphin for the same dates for $604.76 including tax using the teachers rate. Is it worth approximately $200 more to stay at the Dolphin? We are traveling in a party of 2 adults and a toddler. Thank you for any thoughts and opinions!

I just replied to the exact same question only seconds ago. My answer in a nutshell it, there is no comparison b/w the two. The Dolphin is truly a deluxe resort and you just can't compare it to a moderate.

Location alone is reason enough to spend the extra $200, but there is so much more to the Dolphin then their location. Views, service, pools, lobby, etc. Feel free to write with any specifics.

I've never stayed at the CBR, just the old Dixie Landings, Wilderness Lodge and the Dolphin (Govt rate- woo-hoo!!!)
I agree with previous poster that the Dolphin location near Boardwalk, and the speed and convenience of transportation by boat (or foot) to Epcot and MGM are to me worth the extra $$, especially with a toddler in tow. Then you only need the buses for AK and MK....and you can parkhop easily by monorail from Epcot to MK as well. From CBR it's bus to everywhere. Your little one will love the Grotto pool and playground area at the Dolphin too. Have fun whatever you decide....my stepson and his wife loved the CBR for the WDW portion of their Disney honeymoon cruise!

I agree with the previous posters, EXCEPT if the 200.00 difference is significant to your vacation plans. If money is of little concern here then yes the location & posh surroundings of the S/D are worth it, but if the $200 bucks is needed for periferal expenses, like maybe better meals or Cirque, etc., you may wish to stay at the CBR...Either way, in my experience a Disney vacation is what you make of it whether you stay at AS or GF...

I have stayed at the Swan and really enjoyed my stay there. Over the holidays, I stayed at the CBR for the first time. I really enjoyed that resort, too. You can't go wrong with either one, in my humble opinion.

Only you can decide where to stay since only you know your family's wants and needs. Sit yourself down and decide what kind of vacation experience you are after. If you will be spending a lot of time at Epcot and Disney Studios, then maybe the Dolphin is for you. However, if you will be spending a lot of time at many different theme parks and water parks, then it probably doesn't really matter where you stay as you will be traveling to all those areas. In that case, it might be better to take the lesser $$ resort and use the money saved for something really special -- a few hours with a babysitter for your little one while the adults enjoy a nice dinner somewhere, or a few hours for all of you on a pontoon boat cruising Seven Seas Lagoon, and so on.

I have some CBR photos posted here: Janet2k's on-line photo albums
