With the current renovations going on, which resort is better CBR or Coronado Springs? We are a family of 4, DS 3 and 6. Both have multiple bus stops which worries me. Looks like CBR is much more spread out than Coronado Springs, we prefer smaller resorts. However, which construction is causing the most disruption to the resort? We are leaning toward Coronado, but I believe their construction is bigger. We are going in September. Thanks for any advice.

I can't comment on the construction, but in general, Coronado is a lovely moderate resort. I highly recommend Business Class there, as it puts you centrally located to El Centro, the Dig Site, and the bus stop, and the use of the lounge for breakfast is extremely convenient.

With the gutting of the building that housed the food court, table service restaurant, arcade and gift shop at CBR there are amenities missing. Nothing like that is affected at CSR. CBR is our favorite moderate by far but we are staying away until all the construction is completed. I would not recommend CBR right now to someone who's never been before. Ask this question this time next year and my reply would be CBR all the way.

The building that the Business Class rooms were in was torn down last year. No more Business Class.

We stayed a CS in December for a night as part of a split stay. The food court is open and excellent, and we ate at Maya Grill, which was really good. Pool is nice and the construction is all at the entrance to the resort( at least when we were there). You can definitely see it from everywhere. I imagine that CBR is no different. Pool is nice but is a long walk from a lot of the rooms.

The biggest disappointments for was were the room and the buses. Our room was not remodeled, it felt old, smelled like a Days Inn, and the shower barley worked. The buses make four stops around the resort and the service was slow.

OP, just a thought, if you are open to renting DVC points you can stay at a deluxe for about the same price as a moderate. You can avoid construction, get a more compact resort, and have nicer amenities.

We had originally thought of doing that, but we are hoping (like many others) to get Free Dining in September.

The construction is impacting much more at CBR. No food court- only some food trucks and a tent buffet. So as far as construction goes, I'd think that Coronado would be much less noticeable, especially if you can get a room not right next to the construction. But keep in mind Coronado is still pretty big, so while you would have a short walk to your bus stop, if you're in the farthest away rooms, you're going to have a pretty long walk to the food court.

We've stayed at CBR (when not under construction) and I didn't think the multiple bus stops were a big deal at all. They're a quick walk from your room and there are benches and shade where you can relax and wait for the bus.

My wife and I were just staying at Coronado 3/2-3/5 and honestly the construction was really a non-issue for us.
Yes the tower is the first thing you see when you come in and the bridge across the lake is temporary feeling and theres construction in the lake for the new restaurant BUT...during our stay we heard absolutely no construction noise, we were not negatively effected by any of the construction at all and everything that we needed in the main buildings were not effected like the food court the shop and where we filled our soda mugs.
With going to parks early and coming back late we really didn't see/feel that the resort had as much construction as it really has. I would book again there no problem.

We stayed at CSR last month and the construction had absolutely no impact on our trip. It is a very nice resort. However, we very much prefer the Port Orleans resorts, especially Riverside.

CSR - definitely. Pool is better. Food court has normal operations.

We were just at CBR and the construction definitely impacts the resort. There is some noise during the day, which might be an issue if your little ones nap. There is no real food court at the moment and IIRC the completion date on that was recently pushed back, and there are varying degrees of road construction around the resort based on what they're working on at the moment (the second entrance is almost done, but on our last day the ring road around the resort was one lane/alternating direction in one section because of work on the new bus stops). But the upside is that the island markets and Freestyle machines in each village are way more convenient than a central food court/refill station.

On balance, we enjoyed our stay but I'd hesitate to recommend CBR to anyone planning on nap-breaks or significant amounts of time at the resort because the construction does have a big impact on both the aesthetics and the operations of the resort at the moment. By September, though? It might be far enough along that it is less glaring.

Keep in mind CBR has had intermittant issues with utilities (no hot water, no internet) with the construction. It is a ton of construction all over the resort-Jamaica is about the only one not impacted by some construction.
CSR construction is pretty much confined to one area of the resort instead of entire resort (like CBR). Both times we've stayed at CSR in past 7 months the construction hasn't impacted us at all.
I'd choose CSR no doubt at all right now. And I loved CBR pre-war zone construction era.
