CBR... Room requests questions..

We'll be staying at CBR again on our next trip. We prefer staying in the Aruba section. In the past I've always gone on the chat in advance to make our room request and/or our TA has marked our request on our reservation for us. Long story short, we never get what we request and I know it's not guaranteed. Sometimes we decide to just stay in the room we get assigned and sometimes we politely ask the front desk as soon as we arrive if another room is available to our liking. On our next trip we will be arriving around 11am, so obviously way before official check-in time. Wondering if it would be a good idea to go straight to the front desk when we arrive and simple remind them of our room location request before our room is assigned... or do we wait until later in the day when we actually get our room assignment notification and hope that our online request was met? 🤷‍♀️

Yes. Do this.

They will already know your room assignment when you get there, but they will not tell you your exact room number until it is actually ready for you. So you won’t actually be reminding them of your request, you’ll be asking them if your request was met. If it wasn’t, you can make a request to be moved to a more suitable location. Sometimes they can move you. Sometimes they can’t. But it’s always worth it to ask. :)

Agree with @Disneylover99. Go to the FD when you arrive and ask about your room location. Tell them you are willing to wait to get a room in your desired location. As long as you booked a room type that exists in the location you want, they will try to honor it. If you book a standard/resort view and request a specific building that doesn't have that view (may only have water views), then you may not get exactly the location you want. The earlier you are there, the more inventory they have to use to move things around.

I wonder if Aruba is highly requested due to the being closest to Riviera.

The last time we stayed there, I requested Aruba but was placed in Trinidad in one of the Little Mermaid rooms.

FYI your room was assigned days before your arrival. As others state just check in to see if what you were assigned matches your request ... fingers crossed it is or they can move you.

We stayed in Aruba in 2023, great location for riviera and skyliner.

I’ve heard to try and request room through MDE app too? Worth a try!

We love the Aruba area because it's close to Skyliner and Riviera has great food! But also we have found that coming back from MK and/or AK that many times the Riviera bus is there before the CBR bus arrives. So we ride the Riviera bus back and then walk to Aruba. Just nice to have options.

Possibly, but no clue. The last time I stayed at CBR I had a King room booked (which can be in any section) and requested Barbados. Since most people (at least on here) were requesting to be close to the Skyliner and I was arriving late, I figured it was a no-brainer. I got there and was assigned a room in Jamaica 51. I'm not one that goes and asks for a change, especially when I'm arriving late, so I took it.

I have no clue what goes through their heads when they are assigning sometimes.
