CBR Room Request

Quick question for all you CBR experts. We are arriving this coming Thursday, 4/24, and are wondering about good ideas about room request locations. We are staying standard not preferred location. Should I just request Aruba and/or Jamaica or do you have any other suggestions or specifics we should ask for? Thanks so much.

I've heard the less request the more likely you are to get them, so for our October vacation to CBR I'm just requesting Jamaica or Aruba section.

We requested, and got, Jamaica on our trip in April '07. Actually, when we checked in, the CM showed us a map of the resort, and gave us a choice between two rooms (both in Jamaica), and we picked the one closest to the bridge to the food court - building #46. It was about a 2 minute walk to the bus stop and 5-7 minutes to the food court. You cross over Caribbean Cay on the way to the food court - it's absolutely beautiful.

CBR is a great resort - we loved it - have a wonderful time!

Thanks for the replies. Any other thoughts? We can't wait and think CBR is such a beautiful and relaxing resort. I will miss the main pool being open though.

The resorts is really nice. We requested Jamaica and got it. We were closer to the bus side than the island, the difference is maybe 30 seconds though and you're closer to the bus anyways if that happens. Walking over the bridge back to Jamaica after being at the food court is so nice, the buildings are lovely.

I loved it so much, I don't really know what to suggest as I loved everything. There are 2 floors, so one flight of stairs isn't stressful, we were on the 2nd floor.

I have stayed in Jamaica and Aruba and both were very nice...Last time I was lucky enough to get Martinique and it was by far the best location of the threee (but Martinique is now the preferred rooms)

Three of Martinique's six buildings are preferred location (24, 25 and 26) and three are not (21, 22 and 23). Trinidad North is the only village with only three buildings, and all three are preferred location.

How did you book your trip?

If you used a travel agent, then ALL room-related requests must go through the travel agent.

If you booked directly with Disney, then call the same phone number you used to book the trip.

I used a travel agency, but heard from some uk disers that the travel agency is not very helpful

We've stayed in Jamaica and in the non-preferred building in Martinique. We liked both locations but found that we liked the Jamaica Building 41 location a little bit more than the Martinique Bldg. 23.

The walk from Jamaica Building 41 was so pretty and we got to cross over the island in the middle of the resort. Caribbean music was piped in and it was so peaceful.

Love Caribbean Beach Resort. We would be staying at the CBR for our upcoming trip but have family traveling with us and they must stay in a value resort. So, this year, we're staying at Pop Century.

DW and I like building 51 in Aruba. Right at the bridge.

Andrea - when are you going? If it is at a non-peak time, you might be able to get your pick. Last year our room request was typo'd and we were going to be placed into Barbados. They were able to move us to Aruba no problem. The resort is so huge that unless the entire place is sold out, you should be able to get what you like at check in if your TA is not up to snuff on listing your preference.

we are going the 23 aug in the free ddp time, so probably busy going to write to them though, hey you never know, some uk disers said they have done this and there letter was attached to their reservation. and got there preference so worth a try. thanx to all of you for your advice though not just on this thread but previous ones also.

We were in Jamaica 45 on our last trip and it was perfect! We have requested the same building for our trip in June!
