Hi, everyone! :goodvibes

We're going to book our Dec 2007 trip at CBR today! Woohoo! :thumbsup2

Question I have is - are there any King beds in the preferred location? We're going to book a preferred room but I didn't know if I could write in the requests area for a King non-smoking room. It's just the two of us, not sure what our options are for a couple venturing there.

We're getting married in WDW in Summer 2008 so we're going there for vacation + to meet with some vendors. Not sure what upgrades are available for us or options we can take since we're both new at this.

Thank you for reading and have a magical day! :cloud9:

Yes, there are some king bed rooms in the preferred location buildings.

But here's the deal ... Disney lets you pay for (and thus guarantee) only one upgrade at the Moderate resorts. At CBR, the options are preferred location (meaning a room in one of the 6 buildings closest to Old Port Royale), water view, and king bed. So in your case, if you want a king bed room in a preferred location building, you must decide which of those 2 is the most important to you, and then reserve and pay for that option, thus guaranteeing it. You can put in a request for a king bed room, but your odds of getting it might be pretty low.

It seems crazy that Disney won't let you pay 2 separate upgrade fees on a room at the Moderates, but it's true.

Each of the 6 villages (including the preferred location locations) has water view rooms, and each of the 6 villages has some king bed rooms. This means that there are a small handful of water view rooms with king beds in the preferred location buildings. People in those rooms lucked into them, since they could only have reserved/paid for/guaranteed one of those 3 options.

ALL of Disney's guest rooms are now non-smoking, so no need to request a non-smoking room. Even before that change, only one of CBR's 33 buildings was smoking-optional.

For our honeymoon, we booked a room with a king bed at CBR. We received a corner room with a water view at Jamaica. It was great!!! Jamaica is located just across the bridge from Old Port Royale. I have stayed there a number of times and have found it very quiet. Enjoy - it is a great resort.:)

Thank you very much for the quick replies. We're so excited to book and the responses were extremely helpful! Thanks again! I'll check back again in a little bit. :goodvibes

Thanks! I had seen both Part I and Part II of the CBR FAQ but I guess I kinda got overwhelmed by the information in there. I haven't been to WDW since I was 10 :scared: I'm just kinda nervous and excited about booking our first big trip together. We're big savers so we usually don't splurge like this. :cloud9:

I can't wait to go!!! I'm sure it'll be lovely. I'm going to opt for the Preferred location and "request" the King bed. I would definitely prefer being close to the pool and Old Port Royale instead of having a King bed.

Besides, having the second bed is nice to put all the stuff I'm gonna buy on. :rotfl:
