Does the resort have golf carts that drive around picking up guests to take them to the main pool/food court? I know CSR does that... just curious since it's such a big resort.

Never saw any golf cars when we were there. It was a couple of years ago though. There was a lot of walking.

They offer an internal resort shuttle that you can take to OPR

No golf carts. Unless you are in Trinidad South the walking isn't bad at all. You can always take the internal bus.

No, they don't have the golf carts, but they do have an internal bus that goes from each island to Old Port Royale. The only time I could possibly see using this is if you're in Trinidad South, possibly Barbados. All other locations are pretty much a quick walk to Old Port Royale.

My DH and 2 DS were given a ride in a golf cart type thing by a castmember to the main pool. My DH called that his magical moment of the trip since we were in Trinidad South. I had even mentioned to DH that golf carts should be offered like they have at FW. Unfortunately they would probably cause more problems by people abusing them.

Just so the OP knows, this was apparently an example of EXTREME pixie dust. It's not something that is available to guests at CBR. The poster just lucked into seeing a very nice cast member who was following the Disney tradition of spreading magic and putting on a good show.

It's the equivalent of my finding a $50 bill in the ocean on the first day of my honeymoon when we went snorkeling. It was very cool, but it's not something that happens every day.

Does anyone feel that the distance walking to the main building is horrible? I have stayed at CSR and been in the Ranchos and the far side of Cabanas and felt that it was okay. Looking at the map of CBR, I just get the feeling that it's bigger and further away... I really don't want to stay at CBR (I have us booked at POP), but my son is upset that there are no beaches at the value resort (My son could just spend HOURS playing on a beach all by itself). My concern was that since it's just the 2 of us, we would be put somewhere far out and I would be miserable (there are no preferred rooms left for my dates).

About the only time you would need to go to the main building is when you check in. Old Port Royale the food court is centrally located to the villages. I think you will find that you will enjoy CBR and don't find the walking too bad.

I would make the morning coffee run in 20 minutes round trip on our last trip. It took me about 30 minutes on the 2005 trip. Not a bad moring walk at all.

Dragging the kids...that's a different story without a happy ending.

If it is just the 2 of you, it should not be bad.

Just because there are no preferred rooms left during your stay doesn't mean you won't get a good location. You can still request a room in either Jamaica or Aruba. They are both just a short walk from Old Port Royale where the main pool/arcade/store/full service restaurant/hair wrap station/food court/hot tub/marina are located.

We stayed in Jamaica building 41 and we were less than a minute walk to the Jamaica quiet pool and beach, about a three minute walk to the Jamaica bus stop and about a 5 minute walk to Old Port Royale.

We really enjoyed our stay at the CBR. So much so that we booked our June, 2007 stay just days after arriving home from our June, 2006 stay. Everything was so bright and colorful. The grounds and beaches were well maintained. I loved the fact we could laze around in the hammocks on the Jamaica beach and watch the Epcot fireworks at night.

In all honesty, I think all the maps make the CBR appear to be HHHUUUGGGEEE
when it didn't feel so extremely big when we got there. The resort is large and spread out but that also means the guests are spread out and you never feel crowded in.

I really think you would enjoy a stay at the CBR. Have a safe and fun trip, Lisa

All right.... I did it!!!!!!! I called and switched my ressie from the POP resort to CBR!

(My son who is almost 4 was dissapointed in the pics I showed him of POP because there was no beaches!). He loves to play in sand and wanted to stay "at the place with the castle pool and the playground on the beach". Ahhh.... to me that is music to my ears.... pretty carribean decorations and themes.......
