CBR Pool Update

CBR pool will now be closed from Jan 1- Sept. 15, 2008. During this rehab, the Barbados and Jamaica Village Pools will have slides added. The resort's recreation programs for children will also be enhanced while this rehab is taking place. As I receive any information I will update the information..

I heard about the extended pool closure myself when I modified my reservations yesterday.

Just wondering, but do you know if these two quiet pools also be closed during this time?

Thanks for this info!! They did extend the completion date....this should be helpful to many as the original date was Jan to June.

I am pretty sure they would add the slides before they close the main pool. The quiet pools will be open during the refurb. of the main pool.

We will be going to CBR September 28 to October 7, 2007. I am assuming that all the pools will re-open by then? Would that be right?

The pool is closing in 2008. If you are going in 2007 you should be fine.

Safetymom or anyone else - your thoughts -
We usually try to get pool view in Jamaica, with this being one of the quiet pools affected - should we try to avoid Jamaica 1) noise and 2) very busy? Just wondering! Thanks!

It will be busier than normal but just think you will be closer than those in a preferred location. I wouldn't move.

Safetymom...is there any news on CBR closing the two quiet pools to add in the slides prior to closing the main pool for refurbishment? Are those two quiet pools even big enough to accomodate a slide each? I know the Aruba quiet pool is small and couldn't imagine a slide even fitting, much less accomodate the crowds that would come to the pool just for the slides. Are the quiet pools in Jamaica and Barbados bigger than the other quiet pools?

No I haven't heard any news about them closing those 2 quiet pools to install the slides. Those are the bigger pools. I would imagine they aren't going to be real fancy but I could be wrong.

It kinda sucks that the rehad is going to be so long on the main pool, we were thinking of possibly staying at CBR for our trip next summer (July) but I don't want to stay there if the main pool will be closed (if it wasn't the middle of summer I wouldn't mind it so much). I know the rehad will make the main pool a lot nicer, so maybe I'll stay there some time after all the work is finished to see what it looks like updated.

I love the atmosphere of CBR so hopefully all the extra pool work they are doing will be really nice.
