CBR Pirate room ?'s

OK, the only room available at CBR for our dates is the pirate room. I have heard the beds are not great. I have heard the rooms are far from everything else at the resort. How true is all of this?

It will be DH and myself and DD (7) and DS (2). I think the long walk may stink at the end of an already long day...but DD really wants a 'beach' type place for this trip. Any other ideas? We have a reservation at AKL but are looking to downgrade to save a few $$ to stay a few days longer.

They are a bit further away, but compared to all the walking that's done at the parks, it's really not that far. And you don't have to make that walk every day anyways... the bus stop is there close to the village. Also, the resort is really so very pretty, I never mind the walk- it's very relaxing, I think. So I personally don't think that's much of an issue.

I do see your point about the beds- that's actually the dealbreaker for us. DH is 6'5" and he simply wouldn't fit comfortably. So I can understand your hesitation there...

It's a bit of a tough call.... good luck! Maybe keep calling back and something will come up??

DH and I are both 5'7" so we could do it, especially if we each share with one child or use a pack in play for DS. Just not sure for the length of the stay if it would start to wear on our nerves. I wonder if we tried it and hated it, if they would move us to another room if they have one? They have other rooms open as of now for part of our stay, just not the first 3 days. But I am sure that wont be the case by the end of sept when we go.

Tonight I just cancled my CBR free dining. Went with what we had in the first place AKL. I really wanted POR if that was available for the FD then I would have probably stuck with the moderate. We could only get CBR standard.

But to save money we went with the QSDP instead and went with a room at AKL. I really do love the moderates but not sure I will ever see 40% off deluxe again. Another factor was we didn't really have enough ad'rs for all the days. We have done tons of character dining and dh didn't really want to be so scheduled.

I really did the math before I did this. Since this is the 3rd time I have called to change. I have gone back in forth in my mind 100 times. Changed my ticker like 100 times even though I have only called disney 3 times. I hate calling to change. The priced diffrence for 10 days was only 600.00. But I also subtracted things like tips we wouldn't be leaving. Mugs we would be buying ect. We are paying op for 2 meals and have GC for those. One is rainforest and the other garden grill. It may have been cheaper but we went with the bunkbeds at AKL for the girls.

I had no problem downgrading to a moderate we love them. I had to be a place in my mind that staying at deluxe wasn't costing me 1200.00 more. Because if it was I wouldn't be able to do it.
