CBR pics.

if we have an ADR for early before a park opens, will there be a bus available for us to get there? Wed be leaving CBR around 7am on those days? if there is a bus to the parks for the people with ADRs will we have to get it from the main stop by Port Royal or will there be buses by Trin South where we are staying at that time?

Either bus stop should be fine. I believe the buses start at 7am, but 8am is the earliest we've actually caught one. There won't be alot of traffic at that time so it should be a quick ride.

I would phone and explain the situation, I'm sure Disney won't want to leave any kids out. Double check that they have noted your request when you check-in.

thank you so much!!! and ill make sure to double check it with them when we get there!! My little guys is the one that is more Disney crazed and asks every day if we cango to Mickey Mouse Castle.. and he still believes in the magic of it all (mickey is real etc) So i can see him being devistated if his big brother got something from Mickey and he didnt :(

ok great!!! I wasnt sure if wed need to pay for a cab or something to get there since it was so early! thanks again!!!

it's me again - wondering how the food is at shutter's trying to figure out if i should make adr's for them?

Shutters does not get good reviews, which is a shame it would be nice to have a good sit down meal right at the resort. Linda :)

Is there enough room on the floor, either beside a bed or at the foot, to put a twin sized air mattress? I can already hear my DD14 and my DS12 complaining about sleeping with the other one. She tosses and turns, he kicks...etc. Thought they could alternate having the bed to themself with sleeping on the air mattress. We usually stay at Pop and I seriously doubt it would work there, but I know CBR's rooms are larger. Sorry if this was asked and answered.

Yes, there is room for a twin size air mattress in the CBR rooms. I knew our 14 year old wouldn't want to sleep with his sister so we took a twin size air mattress with us. It fit perfectly between the bed and the room door. During the day, we simply propped it up against the wall.

Thank you! This is exactly what I wanted to hear!

it's me again - wondering how the food is at shutter's trying to figure out if i should make adr's for them?

in our family it is our tradition to eat dinner the first night at the resort sit down restaurant. we ate at shutters last year. dd and i both had the new york strip steak, vegetables, and baked potatoes. they came out with a really nice basket of bread and butter too. for desert we had the tres leches and to drink we both had cokes and water. (didnt take pictures, im sorry :( ).

we really enjoyed our food. the steak was really good and loved the tres leches desert. i have read on the boards that if you eat there and stick with the steak or Caribbean pasta you should be ok. we really enjoyed our meal and the service was decent too. it wasn't as good as le ceilier but it was good. when i go back to cbr i plan on eating there again. hope this helps.

Question for the pros: We're planning our first Disney trip for Feb 2012. We really like the look of CBR, but wondering if we would be able to use/enjoy the pool and beach area in Feb or will it be too cold?

Welcome to the DIS! :goodvibes

It really depends. The weather that time of year can vary a lot. We went in late January once and were able to swim. The first few days of our trip were highs of 55-60. A few days later it was 78-80.

great pics and it has helped me get my disney fix till we arrive at the cbr on september29:lmao::thumbsup2

We're staying at CBR in three months and these pics have gotten me very excited! The only other moderate we've ever stayed at is POFQ and we loved it so much we've been back numerous times. It was hard for me to switch but I really wanted to try something new and I really do love the tropical theme and grounds of CBR! I requested Jamaica building 46, hope we get it it! :woohoo:

Thanks for sharing all the pics!

I HAD to reply to this thread!! We have always stayed at POFQ and LOVE it there!! We just got back Monday from a GREAT trip!! We wanted to try something new and went to CBR and stayed in Jamaica 46 and LOVED it! It is a quick walk to the bus stop and a quick walk over the bridge to the Pool/Food Court. The ONLY negative with CBR is that the Custom House is so far away from everything. But that only really affected us at check in and check out. I loved the layout of the food court- the grab and go was awesome. The housekeeping was awesome. Our rooms were all ready at early check in. The busses were SO awesome. We never waited more than 5 minutes - even after the halloween party at MK! The kids pool was amazing! We spent 4 hours and I actually could lay out in the sun! They had it gated off from the big pool and the life guard was awesome and very attentive. The pool and hot tub were both so warm and relaxing. We had booked Wilderness Lodge for our next trip in January, and after spending a few days at CBR, I just couldnt justify the money and we have switched to CBR! :goodvibes By switching resorts and adding the fall/winter discount, we saved over $700.00 too!! :woohoo:

I still LOVE POFQ but the pool and food court and grounds all feel so much NICER to me! I did miss the boat to DTD and the queen beds and beignets!!

Wow, you're like my total resort twin! :lmao: Thanks so much for telling me this, I've gone from excited to super super excited! I've never actually made a resort request before, but since CBR is so large I did a lot of staring at the map and decided to go for Jamaica 46. I'm SO glad to hear it's a great location! I hope we get it! The proximity to the food court would especially be nice because DH is determined to make the most of his ddp refillable mug. :lmao: Really glad to hear you loved it! We POFQ-lovers do have to expand our universe from time to time!

We leave in 43 days and can't wait. We are staying at CBR after being at POP or last visit. Almost too excited to wait

First off, thank you for the compliment. I love walking around the resort taking pictures. The brick bridge is near the Trinidad South village. After I took the picture of the little guys on the pathway, I wondered if they were cigarette butt holder thingies. You know what I am talking about...those containers that they put outside smoking areas? I don't know if that's what they were though.

I do know that the path was well used because not only did I take the path but there were also people in front of me and in back of me going that way.

They are not for cigarettes. I believe they are to stop people from taking the surrey bikes through there as there would only be enough room for one on that walkway under the bridge.

Well that does make more sense than the little cigarette thingies. I didn't even know you could take the surrey bikes over to Trinidad South. I thought you were only supposed to take them on the promenade.
