We are going to WDW next Spring as a large, extended family- we need 3 rooms and our kids will be 8, 12,13 and 15. Each family has different concerns, but the two hotels that we are looking at are CBR- primarily for the skyliner - and the POFQ(if it is open)- for the ambiance, single bus stop, etc. The biggest objections are bus and travel times at FQ vs. the CBR. Can anyone tell me what the bus timing/normal wait to get to parks via bus from the French Quarter(or point me to a place where I could find this info!)? Which resort would you choose? This is our first big family trip and we want everyone to enjoy themselves! - thank you for your help!

Bus waits are the same for any resort. Both CBR & POFQ have pros & cons.
CBR rooms are slightly larger. It was wdw’s first moderate resort. And it has the Skyliner. I think it will be a game changer for getting to Epcot & DHS. Downside is it’s a very big resort with multiple bus stops. However I heard they now run Busses for each side during busy times so you won’t loop around entire resort. I love the option of quiet pools and the hammocks on the beach. Walking distance to the Riveria resort for more food options. I think they ruined CBR food court in the redesign.

POFQ is the most compact moderate, nothing is too far. It has only 1 bus stop and IMO the better food court with more interesting food options for those that want more than chicken nuggets and burgers. Love walking along the river to Riverside. Can go to their food court too. Hopefully when they open Yeeha Bob will be back entertaining, great show. Also they have a boat to Disney Springs. Best way to get there! Beautiful ride on the river.
Downside for me is no quiet pools! And only bus service to the parks.

POR Riverside has always been our fave moderate resort, but we’re booked at CBR next month! It was our first onsite resort years ago, and we enjoyed it. Curious about Skyliner and looking forward to trying it.

Thank you!! I am so excited to hear about your stay!

I have stayed at both and I liked them both for different reasons. CBR of course is a sky liner resort and it is close to food options at Riviera. The downside to me is its size. If you don't mind walking it is a beautiful resort. POFQ is also a beautiful resort and I was told by the CM in reservations it is the smallest Disney resort. There is one bus stop but a plus is there is a boat launch to Disney Springs and it is within easy walking distance to POR. We absolutely loved the quick service restaurant "Sassagoula Floatworks." It is probably one of the best quick service locations at any Disney resort on property. This is also a quiet resort. It really all depends on the experience you're going for. If I had to choose today I'd have to toss a coin to make my decision.

POFQ is my favorite non deluxe. The bus service has always been great in the past.
