I’m booking a bounce back for labour day week next year, but I haven’t kept up with the construction at either resort so I’m not sure which would be the better pick. I’ve stayed at both and loved them both and I’m having a hard time deciding. Thanks!

By the time your trip date rolls around, the construction at CSR should be done (I think they said they want this open around summer time 2019). If thats true, I think it would be kinda nice to stay at CSR. :) I've always loved that resort.

I didn't love CBR so I would choose CSR over it any day. We love CSR and I can't wait to stay there again once all the construction is finished to check out all the new things!

I loved both places. But i admit CSR buses were by far the best out of any disney resort we've stayed at. Never waited long, and never had to stand! I thought both were beautiful though. Just curious, what didnt you like about CBR?

We have also had the best bus service at CSR! We've always gotten lucky and stayed in Casitas by the first stop.

Nothing really major, just a few things I didn't love so it's on the bottom of our list (I don't hate it and would probably give it another chance one day). It's so spread out and we found the layout confusing (I don't have the best sense of direction). I know CSR is also huge but it didn't seem as bad. I don't care for the layout of the pool - it was hard keeping up with DD unless I was right there beside her. She was several years younger then so probably wouldn't be much of a big deal now though. Also, I didn't find it relaxing at all, it just seemed hectic while we were there, more so than anywhere we've stayed. The food court, pool, bus stops, even the walkways were busy most of the time. I think part of it was that it had been a place we always wanted to try, and it just didn't quite live up to our expectations.

I see. To each their own. CBR does have 7 stops (YIKES!) vs 4 at CSR (I believe its 4?). Big difference. I do believe CBR is bigger than CSR as well. I love the pool at CSR. I also love that you can order QS and get refillable mug refills there too. My room was at the perfect location....cabana, right by the main pool and short walk over the bridge to the main building. Gorgeous resort.

PS: I think they got rid of the cabana section in the construction didnt they? I cant remember.

Yes it is such a gorgeous resort. I can't wait to see the new restaurant (or maybe it's a lounge?) on the water!

I don't think they got rid of the entire cabana's section, just part of it. I could be wrong though.

I cant wait to see the roof top restaurant! That's going to have an epic view of the fireworks. :)

CBR should be pretty much set by then. The food court, table service, pool bar and lobby should all be up and running pretty soon and by next fall Skyliner should be done and probably Riviera Resort too.

They also demolished an entire section of CBR so it's not as large anymore. I haven't been there since 2004 but I'll be there in February to make a report. ;) I also stayed at CSR in 2009 and enjoyed it. It is large but it wasn't that large to me -- I don't mind walking though and I tend to visit Disney during milder weather so it's not a big deal. If it was 100 degrees in direct sun I might feel differently.

They only demolished one of the cabanas buildings. There are still 3 buildings left in cabanas.

We love CBR so its really a personal preference. We stayed in the Jamaica section which had excellent bus service. In the mornings the buses would almost always leave for the parks directly from our stop or sometimes one more. In the evenings when returning our stop was always the first. I loved the openness, small beaches scattered and overall theme. Didn't get the same relaxing feel at CSR.

Thanks for all the replies! I’m going to try for CSR, we haven’t stayed since they renovated the rooms and they look amazing!
