Can you please tell me how the construction on the main pool area affected you on your stay. Have upcoming reservations for April 2008 and was hoping to get some feedback.

Was it too loud?
was it too inconvenient to walk from any of the villages?
???

Thanks!

I can't really answer this because I haven't been there - but you may want to check your title!!! LOL!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Yes, I'm a guy and guys love potty humor.

This has to be the most interesting thread of all!!! I laughed so hard I forgot what it was we were answering about!!!!:rotfl2: :lmao:

Oh, I went to the bottom and read it again. When I've been to WDW and construction was going on, I was out of the room and on my way to the park by the time they started and they were finished when I got back to the room close to midnight. It really just depends on how much time you will be spending in the resort.

Construction has somewhat started as areas adjacent to the pool have been closed off. With that being said though, true pool construction wont begin until the 7th and most likely will be fully underway come April.

The only people who should be directly affected by construction noise (which could very well be jackhammering, etc) would mostlikely be those eating on the Marina side of OPR and those in Building 31 of Trinadad North. If you booked a preferred room, ask to be placed in Martinique at check-in to avoid walking past the construction each day.

I believe I read that they have closed the side walk that used to lead from Trinadad North and South to OPR due to the Construction and therefore have re-routed people through the parking lot. I guess in terms of that, my suggestion would be to to avoid those two villages.

I can't suspect that youll find too many issues in any other villages though. Walking from Jamiaca and Aruba during day time hours may be noisy as you get close to OPR crossing the bridges, but I doubt you'll hear anything from that side of the lake.

Keep in mind that Disney will only hold construction during day time hours. If it was me in this situation I request a room in Aruba or Jamaica due to the easy access to OPR and a child slide being added to Jamiacas pool during construction. If I booked preferred, I'd try and get a room in Martinique.

If you are extremely concerned about the risk in noise level then I would try and move to another resort.

I stayed there during the construction and didn't find the noise bad at all. When they were using the heavy equipment you could hear it if you were sitting outside by the pool but by the rooms it wasn't bad at all.

The sidewalk leading to Trinidad North is currently blocked off requiring you to go through the parking lot to get to the food court. We will have to wait and see if they change that once they close the main pool over the weekend.

I have been updating the contruction at CBR on the first post of the CBR FAQ thread. The link is in my signature. As the construction progresses I will have photos of the work.

We were just there last week. They were using heavy equipment to remove some trees by the pool area. We were sitting at one of the tables outside. I couldn't hear the machines over the noise of kids swimming in the pool. It didn't really seem to bother anyone else either. However, they are closing the main pool on th 1/7 through mid-September.

Is the pool closed? We were thinking about staying here in March....but we want a pool, so maybe we should book somewhere else.
Also, if you are staying there, are they giving you any perks? Cheaper price? Other pools open at differnt times? Use of other resort pools? Anything?
Thanks!

The pool will close on Jan 7. No perks. They did install slides at Jamaica and Barbados while the main pool is closed.
