We are bringing my daughter and her best friend for a surprise birthday trip and staying at CBR. We have stayed there before and really enjoy it. My dilemma is, I requested a preferred view, but I also want a water view. One CM put in a request for first floor waterfront, but another CM said you can't get both. Does anyone know if this is true?

Thank you

I don't know for sure, but the foliage is pretty thick. I'm not you'd be able to see thru it for a water view.

We stayed at CBR in December and had a second floor room in Jamaica 45, facing the lagoon. It certainly qualified as a water view, and I would think that at least some of the first floor rooms would have a water view. Ames does have a point - there is so much landscaping that the view from some first floor rooms would certainly be limited by that. If the second floor isn't a problem, that may be your best bet for a good view of the water.

Some of the waterview rooms at CBR are quite creative in their description. I would get a preferred location over a water view.

Since you don't have a balcony it is hard to see the water from most rooms. Also a waterview could be overlooking the quiet pool not the lake.

Thanks everyone. I guess what I really meant was waterfront opposed to water view. It isn't so much wanting to see the water, but I remember being there and we were a hop skip and a jump from the food court and we were right there at the water. It was really nice, not to mention, convenient.

How long does it take to walk from Jamaica 45 to the bus stop, parking lot and food court? Also does the same bus stop at all the stops at CBR before going to the parks?
Thanks :flower:

To the food court it would be no more than 5 mins. if it is even that long. I can't tell you about the bus stop. I have never stayed in Jamaica.

If you were a hop skip and a jump from the food court it sounds like you had what is now a preferred location.

My opinion is to pay the extra for a preferred location and not pay extra for a water view room.

sdloves disney, every village has a parking lot behind it, so almost no matter where you are, you're close to the parking. The bus stop for Jamaica is behind the buildings. If you look at the map on safetymom's FAQ site, you'll see how close it is - just a couple minutes walk, no matter where you are in the village. Personally, I wouldn't pay for a preferred location. We found that staying in Jamaica 45 put us close to everything, without having to pay extra. If it is critically important that you be right next to the food court and shops, then a preferred location would be the way to go. If you don't mind just a few minutes walk, you can save yourself some money and still be close to everything.

We stayed in Jamaica Bldg 44 this past April and loved it! We had a corner room and from one side could see the water. Wasn't really a big deal as we spent little time in the room.
Bldg 44, as well as 45, are very close to the food court. I walked over every am for coffee and it took 2 minutes each way. It's a beautiful walk in the am. I almost paid extra for a preferred room also but instead requested Jamaica and was very, very happy with it. I would ask for Jamaica, corner room.
We have started to plan or should I say save for another trip in 07. I don't think we'll switch mods as we were very happy with CBR.

Have fun!
