I've read the CBR faq pages........ a lot of great info, I do have a couple of ??'s though, we are planning a trip for feb. 06, so I have time to plan.... just excited about going!!!!

1. I know Martinique is the bldg. we want, but if we request a king room, is there any other type of bed?? We'll have our 6 yr. old and he'll need a bed!!! LOL

2. Any advice on the best room/ with a view of the fireworks??

Anything else I need to know about this resort??? Please fill me in, any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

Have you booked a preferred location room? Martinique costs extra because of its location. I am pretty sure for 3 people you will not be able to request or pay for a king bed room.

The beach at Martinique is good for watching the fireworks. It would be hard to see fireworks from the room. Some locations you can see them from the balcony.

Hi Safetymom,
Thank You for all the great info, I"ve looked at all of your pics, and I'm reading the faq threads. I appreciate it all. No, I haven't yet booked our room, I'm trying to figure out exactly what I want before I call. I'm also trying to find out, if I book it now, and later on an AP discount comes up, can I change the reservation? I'm reading through the changes for the AP, and it's a little bit confusing.

I do know based on your faq threads that Martinique is where we want to be, I was just wondering about the king bed, I guess if there is no where else for my ds, then the two doubles will be fine. I was just hoping!!!

Do you know which building/room#'s would be the best in Martinique?? I'd like to be close to the beach, bus stop, and food court, with a little one the closer the better!!

I'm taking notes as I read through the faq threads, but I do appreciate your help.

Thanks!!!

Building 25 is a great location. But I think any of the buildings in Martinique are good. If you book the preferred villages that cost extra you will be close. If you just make a request for Martinique you may not receive it.

Do I need to ask for preferred?? OR what do I ask for, I don't mind paying the extra money, I just want the best room!!! I have no idea what to ask for when I make the reservation.

Tell them you want the preferred villages. It will cost $15 extra per night. Then you could put in your request for location within that village.

OK, Thank You! One other question, do you think being on the second level would be better? For noise issues?? Can you hear the people above you if you are on the ground level??

Thanks!!

I stayed in Martinique building 21 with my seven year old son last month. The room was beautiful. But the resort was so large and winding, I got lost a lot, even with a map.
The first night we were there was an EMH night. We loaded on the bus about 1:30 in the morning. We sat at the very back of the bus and the speaker was broken. I couldn't hear the bus driver calling out the stops. I also couldn't see the stops very well because the light inside the bus was causing a reflection. When we got to the last stop, I realized that I had missed mine. My son and I were the only two people on the bus so we walked up front and asked the bus driver where our bus stop was. He said it was the very first stop we had come to. I asked him if he could take us to our bus stop. He said no, we'd have to get out here. I told him I didn't know where I need to go and I didn't have a map. He pointed and said, "Just cut through there."
We were so confused. There is not very much light at night. The only thing that saved us was the different colored buildings. At some point in our wanderings, the sprinklers came on and we got wet. Even when we found the right building, we couldn't find the stairs. We finally made it to our room about 2:45.
The resort itself was beautiful and our room was beautiful, but I would have to be hard pressed to ever stay here again. :sad2:
