My husband and I are taking our grown daughters to Disney and would like to stay at CBR. I have read good and bad reviews about this resort but want to see what it's like for myself. We definately want a non-smoking
room in a convenient location. Please send your suggestions.:earsgirl:

If you aren't paying extra for a preferred location then I suggest Jamaica or Aruba. They are across the lake from Old Port Royale the food court and main pool.

You will love CBR.

I have a map of CBR up on my website listed below. Lots of pictures of CBR also.

If you have not booked a preferred room, then a very good location is Jamaica, but ask for a room near the bridge. On the map buildings 45 and 51 look close. It's a short nice walk over the bridge to Old Port Royale, gift shop and main bus stop.

You will only be guaranteed a non-smoking room for a medical reason (allergies etc), otherwise it is a request...in all the years I've stayed at Disney Resorts my request has been honored. Only recently did we have to request non-smoking for a medical reason.

I love CBR - you truly feel you're a million miles away on an island somewhere. It's very pretty. A lot of people do not like the long walks, so I would be sure to request a room on the map that looks like it would work. Preferred buildings are Martinque 24, 25, 26 and Trindad North. We've not found CM's at the front desk to especially friendly, but all other CM's were great.

Hope it's a wonderful stay!

Thanks for the input. My husband and I have just moved to FL and purchased FL resident AP and look forward to trying out all the resorts.
We were lucky enough to get an AP rate for Jan so I don't imagine I can get preferred room but I think I will put my request in for the Jamaica section.

A preferred room cost more, so you can get that if it is available at ap rate - not sure it's worth the cost ( it was $15 extra per night) - unless it is very important to be as close as possible to the food court.

You can always call and see if it is available!

Enjoy!

You will love CBR...my husband and I have stayed there during three of our five trips together. We always request Jamaica or Aruba. Both of these building are far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the main pool and food court but are close enough that you don't feel like your taking a hiking vacation rather than a Disney vacation.

Have fun!!!

Jamaica it is. Hopefully they can accomodate our request. We just returned from POR last week and thought that was a beautiful resort and would stay there again but like the thought of the Carribean theme especially in Jan.

I have been twice once in Jamaica and once in Martinique(before it was preferred), although the resort is big, it is beautifully themed. Have fun.

My family is going in January also, so we are in the same boat. I did tour the resort once before and it is beautiful. However I am paying the extra money for a preferred location, mostly because we want to use the food court and main pool lots (and the nearby play area) and my little one is only 3 and doesn't like to walk-I figure she will be in a stroller all day as it is at the parks so thought this might be a nice compromise. Enjoy CBR-it looks lovely and if it is as nice as the others on this site say, I am sure we will have a great time!:wave2:
