CBR - Disappointed this time!

as someone with severe allergy to mold and asthma, i for one am very grateful when reports like this are posted.

true there can be issues at all resorts, but not reporting them would only lead to people coming back later and saying "boy i wish someone had mentioned to look out for the problem"!

if i were going to stay at CBR i would know to check the air conditioner straight away for any sign of mold, something i might not think to do without warning.

now, since we're staying at CR i just hope we don't get the south wing room with the vibrating beds LOL ;) hopefully they fixed the air conditioner right away.

I have read so many awful reviews about CBR. Not just here, but I mean on lots and lots of sites about Disney. I have read more bad reviews about CBR than I have Eisner himself. I personally would not stay at CBR if it was $30 a night. Yes, I am serious. I have read in several different reviews about beer bottles being left out on the beach area for a few days at a time and not being cleaned up, dirty rooms upon check-in, families checking into rooms and finding objectionable "stuff" on the bed sheets, etc. I know all resorts get bad reviews from time to time, but I have never seen one resort receive so many awful reviews.

You didn't really give them a chance to make it right for you.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with you. She gave them a chance and with a lot of hesitation in the beginning, they fixed it. They did "lie" to her before making it right, however.
I think you are just bias when it comes to this resort. ::yes::

bytheblood, I have stayed at other resorts on WDW property besides CBR.

If you have never stayed there I don't think you can comment on the condition of the resort.

I have stayed at CBR many many times and didn't see any of the things you are describing. But if I did even I would be complaining to the management while I was there.

I have seen reports from some of the deluxes where people swear they would never stay there again and the next post is from someone that had a wonderful time at that same resort.

As I have said many times the wonderful thing about WDW resorts is that there is something for everyone.

Familyof14-

I wasn't talking about your post. In fact, your post was the way I expected to see this type of review. You told of a bad experience, but didn't flame CBR or say you'd never return.

Safetymom, did you actually read what I posted? Please do not try to place words in my mouth (so to speak) or my post I should say. We can disagree without insinuating somebody meant something they didn't say.

I never commented on the condition of the resort, but instead said WHY I WOULD NEVER STAY THERE!!!
I have said many times myself that everybody has a different experience and a lot of has to do with who your encounter is with and what type of personality you (generally speaking) have, but based upon all of the reviews and comments I have read about CBR, I simply stated that I WOULD NEVER stay there.

You are forgiven.

Now, I am thinking of having this post removed by the moderators. I didn't mean for it to get out of hand.

Safetymom - I wish you wouldn't get so upset over this. I know you love the CBR, and you were so helpful to me during the planning stages, but I feel I must report the problems we had.

Familyof14-

You did the right thing in reporting what had happened to you..you were very objective and just reported what had happened to you. All along the way you said you would still visit CBR again. Like another poster said we need the good with the bad. Don't feel that you started a war or anything. You didn't.

Just like I reported about the air conditioner that was leaking, I was honest, but that doesn't change my mind about CBR, it was a one time thing and it could happen anywhere. But some people have one thing happen and then they brand the whole place as a bad place to stay, that is what I am talking about.

Your post was very honest and I see nothing wrong with it at all.

Familyof14, I think you are reading something I am not saying. I think anyone that has a bad experience needs to report it.

My point has been that you may read bad reports about all the resorts from time to time but that doesn't mean that everyone will have a bad experience.

I think people should be able to voice their opinions...good or bad.

The person who feels they are never going to stay at a particular resort should be able to say it without getting the "people are not posting negative opinions properly talk".

It is that persons opinion, doesnt mean that you have to not stay there or love that resort.

To all -
Please post the truth about your experiences - the good, the bad, and the ugly!

I fell in love with the CBR just by looking at pictures of it and decided that would be the place to stay for our first Disney World trip this year (July 2004). However, as I search different forums I began to read some pretty awful things about this place. I also read many great things about CBR and decided to stick with my initial instinct to stay there and I am so glad we did! I LOVED IT THERE! CBR is one of the reasons I fell in love with Disney World and am planning our vacation for next year there already! Based on my experience just a few weeks ago, the beaches were beautiful and the grounds were well maintained and clean. The food court wasn't all that but not enough reason to keep us from coming back.

All this being said, if you stayed at the CBR and hated it or any other resort for that matter feel free to voice your opinion. That is what this board is here for.

I've stayed at CBR many times, and have never had a problem.

With over 2000 rooms at that resort alone, along with Eisner's maintenance budget cutbacks, you'd have to expect a reasonable amount of problems.

In all my stays, only once did I get a bad room in WDW (at OKW). We called and they moved us to a much better room.

The only time I was truly ticked off about a room was when we stayed at Disney's Hilton Head resort. The room was rediculous, and they refused to move us. I won't even go into all the problems with that room, but I can assure you I'd never visit that resort again.
