CBR, CSR or POFQ

Ok my family is in a dilemma. Last year we stayed at POFQ and absolutely loved it. It was my family's first trip (I had stayed once about 10 years ago at ASMu). We love POFQ and were ready to book this year's vacation there again. Well, now we are thinking about trying something new. We love experiencing new places and things but we are also a little nervous that we got spoiled by POFQ and CSR or CBR just won't compare. We loved that POFQ was small and quiet but on the other hand at times I hated that it was small and quiet. We loved that the busses were pretty much a direct run to and from the parks. About the only thing I didn't like was the slide was hidden from a lot of the seating area making it difficult to see kids. Another comment about the pool, is I don't like the bar area, can't see the pool from the bar if you were to run quick to get a drink and bring it back.

Again, I really had to search to FIND at least one thing I didn't like about POFQ. But I would love to try a new resort to have a different experience this time around. Can anyone smack some sense into me either way? Should we stick with POFQ or will it be ok if we switch?

Have you thought about a split stay? This way, you can try something new AND be comfortable with POFQ.

It sounds to me that you want both experiences, so why not try both?!

Enjoy your vacation! :goodvibes

Ive always like CBR myself. Ive stayed numerous times. I really like how big it is- love walking around the lagoon in the evening with a drink... The rooms (from my last stay there in 2003) were very basic. Didnt bother me because we truly spend time in the room to sleep and shower only.

That said- we are going in 2 months and staying at a Value. With a toddler in tow I dont think a 2 mile walk to get breakfast is going to work this trip!!

Good luck with your decision. Sometimes its hard to live up to an expectation. If having the resort not meet that would ruin your trip, then dont mess with a good thing!!

If you plan to stay at CBR or CSR be prepared to pay extra for a preferred location. Also know these resorts are very large and while the do have quiet pools, they are no where near the pool bar. With the pool slide at POFQ you would be able to see your child all the way down the slide if you are in the pool. This is not true at CSR. I've stayed at CBR so I can't comment on that slide. You do know that it is possible to use the pools at POR if you stay at POFQ.

I agree - try a split stay.

We LOVE POFQ too. We have tried CBR, not going back. Last trip we did a split stay - AKL and POFQ. This May we are going CSR then POFQ. We just want to change it up and try something new so we'll know more for next time.

Have fun!

I go to WDW several times a year and have finally settled on the moderates as my resorts of choice. I have stayed at all four more than once. I'd rank them as #1. and #2. a close tie between CSR and POFQ, #3. PORS, and a distant #4. CBR

CSR-best bus service of any WDW resort, best pool slide of any of the moderates, biggest hot tub on property, very comfortable queen size beds, wooden sliding door separating the bedroom area from sink area, nicer toiletries with separate shampoo and conditioner, lovely white sand beaches with hammocks in the Cabanas and pretty fountains in the Casitas, best food court on property (followed closely by the one at PORS), decent TS restaurant, love that you can fill your mugs at the main pool, Cafe Rix, or the Pepper Market, can also get some food at the pool bar, only moderate with a health club/spa/beauty shop, also only moderate with room service, because it is a convention resort most conventioneers are in meetings all day so buses aren't usually crowded, and love the lovely views around the lake. If you are on the DDP the Pepper Market is a great deal with alot of choices, but if not on the DDP it can be a little expensive. Cons: is large, so if you are stuck out in the Ranchos walks to the main building can be long, but you can always use the bus to get around and single sink in bathroom.

POFQ-smallest resort on property, so no building is too far from the food court or bus stop, by end of April will have newly redecorated rooms with queen size beds like CSR, boat to DTD, very shaded resort with large trees and quaint quiet streets. Cons-no TS restaurant, food court just OK, main pool too small and childish

If you decide to go with CSR, I highly recommend requesting Cabanas 8A (2-3 minutes to the main pool, 2-3 minutes to bus stop 4, and less than five minutes to the main building.
