I’m going to be staying on property for a 5 day stay in late January 2008. I have stayed at several different reports at all different price points. This time I want to try the CBR. I was wondering what everyone's opinions are on the resort - especially the bus service.

Also, what does a "preferred room" mean at the CBR? Room options are standard, preferred and water view.

Thanks in advance.

Preferred gets you closer to the main pool and the food court. You might want to check out the CBR FAQ thread. The first post has the preferred building numbers. Link is below.

We love CBR!! Don't bother with a water view -- that can be a view of a pool just as easily as the lake. CBR is great, with its own 45-acre lake, a main pool that will undergo a big rehab in January, but also quiet pools in every village. The preferred rooms are in Martinique 24, 25, 26, and Trinidad North 31, 32, 33. Safetymom is the CBR expert, and she has a great map of the resort in her links. Meanwhile, do check out the CBR FAQ thread -- lots of great info on the resort! We've stayed preferred both times and loved it, but Jamaica and Aruba are popular standard locations.

Bus service has been great for us. Every village has its own bus stop, and there's one at Old Port Royale (food court area) also. You're never far from a bus stop, which is nice. There's also a bus that runs just in the resort as an internal shuttle if you want to use that. Lots of buses to all the parks, and we've never had to wait long.

Feel free to check out photos in my links below if you want!

My host company changed servers and they "lost" a lot of things I had on my website. Hopefully in the next week I will have that updated.

It was Sept. when we went, not Jan... but the buses were great... CBR is in a great location for getting to MGM, Epcot, and DTD quickly... Even the trip to AK seemed pretty fast... One good thing about CBR buses is that they don't stop at any other resorts... one bad thing is there are LOTS of stops around the resorts... but those stops are fast, so it's not too bad really...

As for the resort itself... LOVED IT!!!... Nice and quiet... Gorgeous landscapes... and you just can't beat the hammocks on the beaches for laying out and looking at the stars after a long day in the parks... :cloud9: the island in the middle of the lake is wonderful for finding a little hidey spot for snuggling with your SO... The food court is great for a quick breakfast, but it seemed a bit cold... you can always eat outside at one of the tables if it's too cold for you... The poolside bar is also great for an evening drink, but the main pool is going to be closed while you're there...

All and all we loved it and will be going back again this upcoming Sept... :woohoo:
I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that they finish the work on the pool a week or two early!
