CBR "Bird poop island"

Just got done reading some reviews on CBR. I love the place but it did remind me of how nasty Parrot Cay had become. I didn't ever remember the poop on the ground in our earlier trips but in 2002 both times were pretty bad. Does disney not realize how nasty that is or do they think that is just part of the "experience". Maybe they just washed it daily. Like the beaches. Our first two trips they were groomed daily. Looked beautiful every morning, last two maybe groomed once.

I didn't notice that the island was messy with bird dropping in November. It seemed very clean.

The beaches were also groomed....

Guano

Works for bat poop too, in case you are interested (I know you're not but I just had to be a smarty pants)

You know in "Disney Speak", the rides are not "Rides", they are "Attractions". The hotels are not "Hotels", they are "Resorts". Employees are not "Employees", they are "Cast Members".

Maybe we can come up with a Disney Name for Guano.

When I was there in Nov. 2001 and May 2002 it was clean. Bird poop was not a problem then, maybe things have changed.

Disneyspeak for bird poop could be "Tiki Room Pixie Dust" and the janitorial staff for Parrot Cay can be known as "Tiki Room Pixie Dust Imagineers".

i was there in august 2003 and I didnt see any birds, but there was a awful smell, I remember holding my breath to walk thru it and it did seem gross on the ground.eeeuwwwww

I don't know, kinda has an 'aroma' to it if you know what I mean!LOL Isn't Pixie Dust something you want to happen to you? Every time my dd is around birds, they designate her shoulder or long hair for target practice.lol. Poor thing, she's starting to have a phobia of aerial birds!

For the experience of a lifetime you must be on Parrot Cay at dusk, when all the birds are coming in to roost. I can still hear the "pixie dust" hitting the palm leaves and ground.

O.k., now ya'll have us really paranoid! My dd and I will be 'ducking' - (no pun intended) when we cross Parrot Cay to eat! Hopefully in 37 days they will know we're coming and migrate!lol

Thats ok though, where else in the world would you rather be bombed?

DH and I just returned from CBR last Saturday. We walked through Parrot Cay many times on the way to OPR and never had a problem with the poo, or whatever the cool kids are calling it these days! I mean, it is OUTSIDE for crying out loud. Whatever problems there may have been before may have been corrected.

I realize it is outside, however when the ground has turned a "greenish white" that is never good. I am glad that it isn't as bad. I love the resort and even the stroll to OPR. I guess I get to see how much better it has gotten soon. Almost to double digets.

Don't complain about the bird poop too much or it will show up in a souvenir box called Disney Dung in the gift shop of CBR. Will be priced something like $19.99 per pound.
