I'm planning a trip to Orlando for October 15-21. What's the weather and temperature like during this time? I've been in September many times and I like it there then (although it can be a little hot and buggy). Also, I will be staying a few nights at CBR, any suggestions which section to stay in? Any help or advice would be helpful!

Thanks!

While I can't help with the weather question, I have stayed at CBR. We really enjoyed this resort. The rooms were recently refurbished and are really well planned, with a privacy curtain for the bathroom area and lots of storage.

As far as location, it depends on what you want. If you want to be closest to the pool and food court, then the Martinique and Trinidad North areas are the best. (We were in Martinique 25 and had a very short walk.) If you don't mind a little walk, then Jamaica is a beautiful area - you walk over a bridge to get to everything. The farthest area from the food court and main pool is Trinidad South. Hope this helps. I know there is a map of CBR on the DIS site (although I don't know how to provide a link to it) which will help you get an idea of the layout of the resort.

It depends on what you want to be close to where you want to stay in CBR.

I have a map of the resort on my home page listed below. You might want to read through the CBR FAQ thread and you will lots of great information from others that have stayed at CBR.

We just got back from the CBR yesterday. I'm not sure what the weather will be when you go. We stayed in Aruba #51.

It was pretty quiet, but our building seemed far away from the bus stop (especially late at night!).

We walked over to OPR in the morning to get coffee and although going over the bridges was pretty, it was kind of a pain because there were so many birds. There was one day that the pathway was completely covered in bird poop. It was so bad, it actually smelled! DH even got pooped on. I would have to say, I would not want to stay over the bridge again. I haven't seen anyone else complain about this on the forum, but it was pretty bad.........While we were there, there were plenty of people complaining..

We were usually the 2nd bus stop, so didn't have too many problems with the busses. They ran pretty promptly and when one bus filled up, another was right behind it. One day we had a problem with the Epcot bus. We had just missed one, waited like 20 minutes and the next one went right by because it was full. 3 busses for each park went by. I finally got on one of the busses and asked the driver about Epcot - he said he would call and within 5 minutes, there were 2 Epcot busses. The whole wait was an hour, but that was the only problem we had.

The rooms were decent. I liked the decor. They weren't big rooms and with 4 of us it could be cramped, but for the amount of time we spent in the room it wasn't a problem. Having 2 sinks was a plus!

I didn't get any of the requests I had asked for. We were with another couple and had requested adjoining rooms, near the bus stop and near the food court. But oh well - we still had fun! They said we could get adjoining rooms, but it would have been a 4 hour wait. We had stopped at the grocery store and had some perishables, so didn't want to leave them out for 4 hours....

The kids had fun at the pool, we liked the bananna cabana, OPR was good. I loved the atmosphere of CBR. The other couple we were with had a problem with their a/c. It was after midnight and they called for help. Someone was out within 2 minutes and replaced a part, so they were happy.... We had bunnies and dogs made out of the faceclothes everyday - the kids thought that was great.

I did like the CBR, but I think I would have been happier on the "other side" near OPR. CBR has a very tropical feel - you really feel that you are on an island. It's very picturesque, but it is very spread out.....
:)

You'll love the CBR!

We stayed in Jamaica. The huge advantage is that when the busses come, Jamaica is always the first stop. So an empty bus comes to get you when you go somewhere and you always get a seat.

If you come back from a park on a crowded bus and you're standing, well, Jamaica is again the first stop so you get off first.

The CBR is a true resort atmosphere. While the value resorts are more condensed and like hotels, the CBR is sprawling. So is the CSR. I really like that though. The wide open spaces, the lakes, the white sand beaches, the palm trees, the hammocks. It all lends to the true "resort" feeling. Sure, it takes a whole five minutes to get to the main pool/dining/gift shop area. It's not a problem. You will enjoy your walks over Parrot Cay island and around the resort. Just take in all the tiny details. Feed the ducks and fish and turtles. You'll love it!
