Hello,

We are staying at these two resorts for our upcoming trip in Feb.

I was wondering if you could rate their bus systems to and from the parks?

We are going during value season and expecting semi-low crowds, but can we expect these buses to be convenient?

Also, is there a website with info on how long it takes to get to each park from these resorts via bus?

TIA!

Never had a probelm at either of the two.
In fact AKL and POP are the only two resorts that always have only one stop which is nice and AKL has far less people getting on/off than POP.
Other resorts either have multiple stops within the resort or share a bus with other resorts for some/all destinations.

We thought the AKL bus service was great! Everyone always talks about how remote AKL is, but we didn't find travel times to vary that much from anywhere else we've stayed. The lines were never very long, and we always had a seat.

I spent one night, 12/15 at the CBR..You need to take an internal bus from check in to your "building". Way too big without a car..A very long walk from building 51 in Aruba to the bus stop, we actually used Jamaica stop it was closer. Then it stops at each village and I believe there are seven? It takes away lot of vacation time IMO...I would say it was between 10 and 15 minutes before you exit the resort...

Stayed at AKL twice. Buses were wonderful - they do not share with other resorts (this is terrific - some of the other deluxes share with two or three other resorts, which makes for longer bus rides). I also like where the bus ques are, and how you can walk thru the gift shop to get out to the buses. The AKL gift shop is my favorite at WDW.

We only had one long wait that I can remember and that was for a DTD bus in the early part of the day.

Been to both, and buses at both were great! I know a PP said you had to take the internal bus at CBR, but our walk at CBR was shorter than at AKL - AKL is a huge building! Regardless, they're both great -- you'll have no problems with buses!:cool1:

I just got back from a 10 night stay at the AKL and the bus service was great! :thumbsup2 We hardly waited at all and our longest wait was 20 minutes due to us either just missing the bus or the bus was full and they had to send another one. AKL doesn't share buses with any other resort and there is only one stop.

Enjoy your trip!

We've never stayed at AKL but have stayed at the CBR twice.

The resort is large but not large enough for us to justify waiting on and riding the internal bus.

The buses ran very efficiently during both of our June stays. Once, we had to wait about 20 minutes for a bus but that was not during the "rush hour" (it was about 10:30 a.m. or so) and we, literally, saw the Epcot bus (the one we wanted) driving away as we left our building.

The CBR buses do start at one side of the resort and make their way around to the other bus stops but it didn't take us long at all. We stayed in Martinique once and in Jamaica once. We found that these two villages were often the first to pick up and the first to drop off.

Because the CBR is centrally located, it never took us long to reach any Disney destination. I remember that I timed our ride to MGM Studios and it took 11 minutes from the time we got on the Jamaica bus, made our way around the resort and pulled into the bus stop at MGM. Not too shabby in my opinion.

We stayed at CBR on our last trip and had no problems. We were lucky enough to be in Trinidad North, and were only one building away from the bus stop, so it was only a minute or so walk for us. I think with the way the buses ran, we were usually one of the first villages to be picked up on the way to the parks, but one of the last to be dropped off when returning. Of course it took longer to get to some parks than others, but overall we didn't have any problems, and I wouldn't hesitate staying there again.
