As most of you know, in less than two weeks my only son will be getting married. Somehow I got roped into giving them their honeymoon ;) which will be, of course, a trip to WDW. :D

I have put together their package, with some help from SSB and AKAH (thanks ya'll!) and I bought them a scrapbook and supplies for their trip.

For my finishing touch, I would like to ask if all of you would contribute on this thread your best WDW and Universal park tips. Your favorite restaurants, best thing to order, best place to get a Mickey bar, best photo spots, etc. etc. etc.

I will print this out and put it in with their package. Thanks so much!

Since it's your honeymoon, I think that something very romantic is to wait until the park is almost empty at the end of the day, and then have a slow dance around the statue of Walt and Mickey in front of the castle. With the lights on the castle changing and something romantic playing (Someday My Prince will Come, Beauty and the Beast etc.) it is a wonderful thing to do.

Don't forget to tell the driver on the monorail that it's your honeymoon, and ask if you can sit up front with him. It's amazing sitting up there!

Have a great time!

Congratulations!!!!

I would sugggest dinner at the Kona Cafe then a moon lit stroll around the grounds of the Poly. You can walk the path to the wedding pavillion and if you time it right you can catch the fireworks or EWP from the beach.

A fun place to go for drinks & entertainment(and adults only) is Jellyrolls. DH & I had a blast there when we went. Afterward we walked the path back to MGM to catch a bus. This was another quiet, almost deserted path along the water.

Have a great time!

One of the most romantic things we did on our WDW honeymoon is dance... we had a lovely dinner at Victoria and Albert's, then strolled down to the lobby of the Grand Floridian (where we were staying). The band was playing on the second floor, and we slow-danced to our heart's content in the middle of the lobby, wrapped in our own little world. It was fabulous, and a perfect end to a perfect evening.
If it's dead slow... nicely chat up a CM for an "alone ride." We wore our bride & groom Mickey ears in Epcot one day, and queued up for JIYI. The CMs commented on our hats, and we told them it was our honeymoon. Since there was no line of people behind us, the CMs let us ride by ourselves, and slyly reminded us that there were cameras so "don't be naughty.":p

After Illuminations is over, find a nice place to sit and relax for a while. After the crowds are gone it's very romantic to stroll through the World Showcase, holding hands of course!!

Congratulations!!

At Universal, take the time to take the boat over to Portofino and stroll across the piazza. Go into the Portofino and have a drink (preferable one of their specialty martinis) in their lounge and order some cheese and meats. If you can manage it, STAY one night at Portofino. It's a luxurious hotel.

At WDW, stroll down the beach at the Poly or GF and watch the Electric Water Parade.

Stroll on the Boardwalk.

One thing I loved doing was walking out of the Magic Kingdom past Cindy's castle and just watching it change colors. It was about hour plus after mK had closed so we had all of main street to ourselves

I have no hints jips but congratulations to your son and lovely bride-to-be.

Congratulations, Jips, that's great!!! My best to your son and his future bride/your DIL.

Best Illumination picture area (well two), along railing in front of Italy and balcony of Teppenyaki )watched it there last year with Regis and entourage). A super quiet walking path is behind the FastPass ticket area of ITTBAB in AK. It wends around the Tree of Life, little traveled, so breathtakingly pretty. Wonderful dinner, Portobello's. A hoot...any character meal, making sure they know they are newlyweds. A rest in a beach hammock on Poly beach. Oh goodness, there are just so many, Jips. Make sure to be up front, and reach out to the puppets from Tapestry. Hold hands wile watching, and listening, to 'Impressions de France' in Epcot. Stroll Italy during Masquerade, while strains of 'Time to Say Goodby, Con Te Partiro' play. At MGM, a relaxing stroll among the memories of Walt in 'Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream'. At Magic Kingdom, certainly pictures by The Partners statue in the Hub. Romp a bit with Chip 'n Dale in the Hub. A quiet lunch, upstairs at Columbia Harbour House, sitting by the window looking out over Liberty Square. The Kiss Good night!!!

What a great place to honeymoon!!!!

Andrea, your story of dancing in 'your own little world' at the GF really made me smile. I could just 'see' and 'hear' it. :)

I had the most romantic honeymoon at Disney World...actually, I think DH might have left the romance there because he doesn't do anything romantic for me at home, just when we're at Disney World.

You HAVE to get in touch with Jane and the Pixies (I think that's what it's called.) DH hired her for our honeymoon and kept it a secret from me! She followed us through Magic Kingdom taking pictures of us secretly from (litterally) behind the bushes. After a couple of hours of doing that she came up to us and let her presence be known to me and then we got to go around Magic Kingdom poseing for pictures. One of my favorte pictures is of DH and me on a little balcony area at the back of the castle. I may just have to post it for you to see where I'm talking about. Anyway, it was such a great surprise and it provided us with the greatest suvineer of our honeymoon.

DH also booked a surprise Illuminations cruise. That was also extremely romantic. Usually those cruises are booked but for some reason we were able to get a boat all to ourselves. We cuddled up under a blanket (it was kinda chilly out) and watched the fireworks. It was the begining of the Millenium cellebration so it was our first time to see Illuminations 2000 and it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. The music, the fireworks...it was all great.

And whatever you do, DON'T FORGET THE MICKEY/MINNIE EARS! They make them in Bride/Groom hats and they HAVE to get those. I personally liked the attention because everywhere we went people kept congratulating us. That's also how you're able to get some free stuff. It's so cool when Disney gives you free stuff!

And if they're staying at a place that has the hammocks on the beach, they have to wind down there at night. Sometimes we would just go out there and swing in the hammocks together and not even talk. We'd just relax and swing.

But the most important thing of all is to remember to have fun :)

That is a great gift you are giving your son and new daughter, wow! Congratulations to them. I wish them many, many years of happiness together.

I love the boardwalk area. If they get the opportunity to visit the Boardwalk it can be as expensive or inexpensive as they choose. The street performers are just a lot of fun and there are some really good restaurants there.
