We took the lynx bus to seaworld August 25th. Yes it was easy to do but it took a very long time. We left POR at 8:05am and arrived at Seaworld at 10:10am. Not a great start to our day. We took a taxi back.

Part of the problem was that POR takes a long time for their internal bus system to go through the four stops. It still took forever for the lynx bus too. Their automated payment system means each person has to insert the right change into it and if you have a lineup of people it can take a long time.

We were planning on using the Lynx bus system next year to go to Sea World. If you don't mind me asking, how much did the taxi cost?

The taxi cost $25 to get home. The driver did mention that it costs more to get there. You can call mears and get a quote. I did many months ago and I believe it was $40. My hubby balked at that and consequently we took the bus but the original plan was to taxi it there and take the bus back. Yes, we did it the cheaper route but it cost us the ability to feed the dolphins and even my hubby is sorry we didn't stick to the original plan.

We found this going the other way - the length of the bus journey to the TTC from Sea World DOUBLED from our previous trip in 2006. Never again will I rely on the Lynx buses to get to Disney - despite being a HUGE fan and using them endlessly during our 2006 stay :sad2: Back in 2006, it bombed straight from Sea World to the I4 and straight to the TTC. Now it stops at a bunch of DTD area hotels and DTD!

We took a taxi to Universal in October from the DTD area and it was around $30 and that is a lot farther than Seaworld.

We used Mears from ASMo to Discovery Cove. For 3 people it was $48 round trip. Definitely worth the money. On the way out we only stopped at All Stars. On the way home we stopped at quite a few resorts, but it gave us a chance to see the other resorts, so we really didn't mind.

I guess I'm just used to using public transit systems so I don't find this all that odd. When did you expect to arrive at SW? Thanks for the caution all the same.

How did you get a taxi from SW back to POR? We will be doing the same one-way leg soon. Did you call a taxi or just find one outside of SW? $25 is very reasonable.

I have the Lynx schedule and this is what it states~

leaves DTD PLeasure Island side at 8:19am and gets to Seaworld at 8:43. As long as we left POFQ and were at the bus stop by 8:15 we should get to Seaworld around 8:43 depending on traffic right? It says it is less then 5 miles so I would think 1/2 hour for 5 miles is pretty slow I don't see how it could be any slower then that!

But is it any slower than a car? It makes few, if any, stops between DTD and Sea World. The timetables take into account heavy traffic.
